I actually feel bad for NS. I am sure she is intelligent enough to realise that the ‘acting’ she is doing in this serial is shudderingly terrible but if her role is written and directed that way maybe she doesn’t have a choice.
So it’s writer and director who need सणसणीत कानाखाली
No sane mother will tolerate babdya’s behaviour in today’s episode but then insanity seems to be this serial’s theme:-)
Its becoming intolerable, asavari’s overacting and AR’s silly under acting.
Why,oh why do we torture ourselves?
Yesterday, on CHYD, when Babdya was asked about his role he glossed over it and said that he had been brought up by Asavari and a deep attachment had grown, so he is behaving thus. That looked a silly explanation as all mothers bring up their children with great love and not all children turn so weirdly possessive. That is when I realised this serial's theme is more akin to an Oedipus Complex. Babdya's visceral hatred for Abhijit, even though Abhijit has bent over backwards to please him and help him out of crisis, is an indication of Oedipus Complex. The way Babdya rushes to Rajasthan to ensure that Abhi-Asavari don't come physically close during the honeymoon and his willingness to even breakup with his lovely and caring wife just to ensure his mother is back all add up to this. Babdya's weird behaviour has confused audiences but if you look at Babdya with this theme in mind, everything falls into place and Babdya's unreasonable behaviour looks reasonable. ZM must have had this theme in mind when they started this serial but probably chickened out in labeling it as such as they may not have been sure that conservative audiences would appreciate such a bold theme.
This is my POV.
