They're just mad Kangana or Priyanka didn't win. Or they just don't like Alia. Yawn.

Filmfare has been snubbing talent since it's inception.

Nargis has 2 nominations in her entire career and 1 win.

Madhubala has 1 nomination and 0 wins.

Dimple Kapadia won Best Actress aged 16 in a category that had Nutan (Saudagar) - in which she showcased the same talent if not less than Ananya Pandey in her first film.

It's always been a popularity contest. No idea why people are crying even louder this year. I think everyone wants to fight for something on the internet instead of real life politics.

In 2003 they gave Best Debut to Lara and Priyanka (for Andaaz) because it looked good for PR. Bhumika Chawla was also in the nominees list but she didn't win. However Bhumika was nominated for Best Actress - how does that work?

There are hundreds of discrepancies like that since the 1950s.

Gets on my tits when people say "Filmfare lost it's touch" - bxtch it always been so.

This and the whole of THIS!

Well said- like always!👍🏼

Its been forever like this - a weekend sport for the actors and a TV program for the audience! Other than that, even Oscars shouldn’t be taken too seriously.....

If you dont speak up against this nepotism/buying awards then you appear to be pandering to the nepo mafia, namely-KJo 🤢. And if you DO speak up against it, you end up being called a fool/ arrogant and made fun of, like Kangana 🤔.

Best is to stay quiet and do unique films, like the newcomers (non-nepo kids) are doing...audience has become smart these days. thats why people go out and watch story-oriented films as opposed to big banner films.

As it should. I feel like KJo purposely bought that award for her since her online nemesis, MC Sher (rightfully) won the same award in the male category.

People have been speaking for years and some just started ignoring. An still these awards remained largely same format

Do you think people will stop accepting mediocracy and stand up for nonrepresentation of true talent?

No. This is age of twitter warriors and clickbait youtubers.

This won’t do anything, except stir the pot for 30 seconds and then fade out of existence. When FF treats this crap next year, we’ll stir the post for 25 seconds, and then fade out of existence.

Having said all that... I am relieved Shahid didn’t win for Kabir Singh how much ever great his performance was. And I actually like Shahid. Such a misogynistic movie doesn’t deserve any award.

I'm sorry - this doesn't make any sense. The award is for best ACTOR not best screenplay, story, or movie and should be judged separately. If an actor does a great job, their work shouldn't be discarded because the movie was problematic.

Last year, Ranveer won for Padmaavat and Ranbir for Sanju. Both characters were misogynistic and violent. Khilji's deranged as well. Both movies tried to glorify these two problematic characters.

This year, Alia was awarded for a "violent" and "angry" character as well.

Joaquin Phoenix also just won an Oscar for a character like the Joker with its multitude of issues! The movie received polarized comments with respect to violence as well.

I don't agree that actors should be penalized because the movie had issues. The award is not an endorsement of the character's behavior. It's a recognition of the actor's talent. Two extremely different concepts.

Truth is, if Ranbir or Ranveer had done the movie instead of Shahid, they would have won without question. It's another story that they wouldn't have done justice.

True now you understand.

Finally the clique-ism is out. SRK to HR to RK to RS to Big B have dominated these awards for nearly 30 years. I mean Aamir won a few and occasionally Shahid, Irfan, Farhan were rewarded but that was rare. These shows have a pattern they usually stick to

An the best thing anyone who doesnt like this pattern can do is just ignore the awards rather than give yourself headaches .
