The way I see it, I was writing this friday also, MJ is forcing Maya to become Manvi in his obsession to snatch her cover from her. So he is kind of exposing himself also. The way he showed his color to Diya today is only the beginnings of Maya's game. Like she never pushed Antara into the tub, she slipped and fell, Maya facilitated it indirectly, similar thing is happening here. But that doesn't mean Maya JS won't be back. I'm sure she would be, and that would make Rudra more confused and insecure.
Maya JS never mollycoddles Rudra, she challenges him, we would get to see that side when JS returns.

MJ is already obsessed with her. I said 'her' because he himself doesn't know whether it's Maya or Manvi. He is chanting her name and stalking her 24/7. Pretty sure even spending his nights thinking about her.
Even apart from all the stalking and talking, it was clearer than ever in today's episode twice .
1) When she came with Manvi hair and he reminisced manvi and said her name under his breathe.
2) He is already sure Rudra will leave her and then she will come to him. Even though he changed it to a killing threat immediately after that, it looked like a flirting. When sadistic guys like MJ flirt while being themselves, more often their approach is filled with sadistic innuendos (biting, beating, spanking, killing are sexy words to guys like him).
Now the stronger Mayra relationship will get, the more frustrated MJ will become and the more obsessed he will be with her. This is gonna strain his relationships with his other girls as well as blur his vision. This whole plot looks dark and interesting.
But what I am afraid of is-----all that can happen only from MJ's inner turmoil and without Maya doing anything feasible. Even if Maya just concentrates on maintaining her relationship with Rudra, still MJ in current scenario is perfectly capable of digging his own grave. He can't piss Rudra off again and also he can't let go of Manvi. It's gonna be hell and high water for him even without Maya moving her finger and that's what I am afraid of.
Moreover we are gonna get MJ's backstory.
I don't want Maya to be reduced to nothing and just a mere love interest of the lead's son whose only capabilities are to threat unimportant people from time to time and giggle at her husband.
Before I was afraid of Rudra getting reduced to nothing but now I am scared of it happening to both Mayra and MJ emerging as the sole ringmaster of the show.
We were talking about she being a tigress of the zoo and not of the jungle. But there are chances of the worse to happen-----woh ban jaye circus ki sherni where MJ is the ringmaster and Rudra is the audience who has no idea what the hell is happening.
