I started watching EDKV2.....not bad so far.
Anyone who's grown up in an Army background will identify with some bits😆.....the whole Civilian v/s Army atmosphere/conflicts.
Leads are not bad....ok types. Atleast girl ka profession/future aspiration is something other than event planner/cook😆.....she's an NCC cadet who wants to join the army. Thodi akdu hai cuz she is consumed with pride for her family and the Army.....but I guess she will evolve eventually.
ML is a bit based on HR's character from Lakshya I guess....vella/confused types who just wants to chill in life and not do much.....his father is constantly on his case to find some drive and discipline in life.
Major noteworthy point so far is how normal both the families are.....koi bhi cliched loud/grey villain type character nahin on either side.....dono taraf ki families have a sense of positivity and nok-jhonk happening.....Shravan ki mom is very protective of him but abhi tak typical mom bhi nahin dikhaayi who hates everyone for not valuing her raja beta....lol Suman ki mom is realllyy sweet.....Army wife who is a teacher....bahut elegant lady hai.....the dad is really suave as an Army officer too.
There's a scene in epi 4 where I was just blown away by the fact that Suman's family had a convo at the dinner table where everyone presented their different viewpoints and talked aaraam se to each other without any faltu ki negativity or tamasha. Aisa ab kahaan hota hai ITV pe? lol
Overall the show has a simple/subtle vibe jaise some Sony shows do aajkal.....if channel lets it survive and stick to the basic theme, can be an ok timepass watch.
I guess it's like a bit of a cross between a school love story and whatever angst comes later. The characters are supposed to be 17 right now....lol I guess they are pushing the believability factor on that a bit but chalega......given how atrocious ITV has become now in general, this is not a bad watch.
I've forgotten whatever story original EDKV had but I guess it was something about how they were also childhood friends from school? And he called her Sumo? But unke grown up versions were pretty lame/cliched with the random MUs and hate track.....yahaan so far ok hai.
This is from the same makers as EDKV/YPNK also so overall production values and vibe same hai....remains to be seen if the story sustains. I do like that they shoot in a location outside of Mumbai and try to shoot on-site....gives it a real feel.
