I’m actually not mad at this explanation at all. When it comes to who he considers his true friends in the game, it’s always going to be Sana and Aarti. But we know, Sid knows, and Sana knows (at this point even Aarti knows LOL) that his relationship with Sana is on a whole different level than Aarti. And that’s why he made the effort to explain to Sana that saving Aarti in the chess task was an accident, he made sure to clarify to Sana so that she knows. I’m okay with him saying he couldn’t choose between the 2 - it’s better than him saying he saved Paras out of friendship because that would really be bogus to Sana and Aarti who have been his constants throughout the show.

Sid hates Rashami! And can’t see her talking to Rashami 🤣
