Hi all,

Thank you for your amazing replies! Hope you like the next part

Chapter 2

The sound of thunder awoke him from his uncomfortable slumber. It was still dark outside. He laid back on the bed feeling drained after the previous week's events. His kidnapping, shyam's motives, khushi's betrayal.

KHUSHI! He woke with a sudden jerk as his eyes travelled to the poolside, hoping to the core that she had managed to find shelter somewhere. What he didn't expect was seeing her sitting in the same position as when he last saw her. The only difference being that her eyes were closed.

He rushed to her side and gently touched her face. It was frozen. Fear gripping his heart, he cradled her slender frame to his chest, and carried her away from the storm into the comfort of the room.

"Khushi! Open your eyes, Khushi. You cannot do this to me!" He kept rubbing her palm and whispering soothing words to her.

His gaze swept over her frozen, drenched form. He had to get her into dry clothes or she was not going to make it. He brought his crisp, white shirt from the wardrobe and after hesitating for a second, he carefully pulled her slender form to his chest and changed her clothes. She might hate him for this but at least she would be alive.

After removing her drenched dress and replacing it with his shirt, he carefully laid her back on the bed and starting to rub her feet. Anything to bring back the rosy sheen on her now pale face. He knew what he had to do but could he really do that to her? A few hours after claiming he hated her?

As his gaze fell on her shivering form, he knew he had no option left. Removing his own tshirt, he got in under the blanket next to her, pulling her soft, delicate body closer to himself, nuzzling his face into her neck. He could stay in this position for a lifetime, was his last thought before sleep took over.

***

The sun shone over the couple after the thunderous night. Even though her head was pounding and her legs felt like jelly, not to mention the weight on her waist, she had never been more comfortable in her entire life. She slowly opened her eyes to find herself in a strong grip, as if afraid to let go. She felt the bare skin of her husband, who was sleeping next to her nearly bare form.

She woke up with a jerk, scared of his reaction at seeing them in this state. He would think she was trying to seduce him. She didn't have the strength to listen to his accusations any longer. She didn't care how she got here, in his room, on his bed, in this condition. She didn't care that her head was pounding so hard, it may just crack her skull open. She didn't care that she was next to the man she loved more than anything or anyone. All she could here were the nasty words he would spew at her on finding them in this condition.

She carefully untangled herself from his hold, lifted herself from the bed and made her way to the bathroom. Under the force of the shower, her tears had the freedom to flow carelessly. She didn't need to hide her feelings in this moment. So she let herself go in that moment. Let her tears flow holding her sobs so the sounds wouldn't travel outside her haven.

By the time she got out of the bathroom, Arnav was awake. As soon as his gaze fell on her, he rushed to her side and pulled her into a tight embrace, relief settling in at seeing her unharmed.

"How are you feeling now, Khushi?" He broke away from her and put his palm on her forehead, checking to see if the fever was gone. "You still have a slight fever. Where do you think you were going? You need to sleep."

Ignoring him, she went in front of the dressing table, getting on with her daily routine. Shocked at being ignored by her in this abrubt manner, the inner ASR made his way to the front, storming to her, pulling her arm, forcing her to face him. What he didn't realise was that she was in the middle of filling her partition with sindoor, which when he pulled her flew in the air and landed on her head. The first time since he forcefully married her had he put the sindoor on her head.

"How dare you ignore me, Khushi? Don't you dare think you have any hold on me. Just so you know, nothing happened between us last night, so if you think you managed to seduce me, you're wrong!" Saying this he stormed in the bathroom, not realising the weight he had left on her heart.

This is what she was dreading. She didn't even know how she ended up there and yet, she was somehow the culprit. But then again, wasn't that her life? She didn't ask to be born. She didn't ask for her mother to die giving birth to her. She didn't ask for a father who blamed her for his wife's death. Who hated her so much that he had sworn never to look at her face. A father who...

GOLDDIGGER, she thought with a humorless laugh. If only you knew Arnavji.

That was depressing for Khushi. How is she going to survive this abuse ? That was so pathetic of Arnav. Hope Khushi escapes of their clutches.

Arnav is downright mean. Deep inside he does care a bit as we see, but his words are full of poison.

That is the problem with Arnav. He can't see her suffer and because of Anjali and Shyam he can't love her either. He does not know how to stay away from her.

He can't keep on oscillating between affection and hate for Khushi. May be some of you are right, she needs to do something drastic to give him a jolt or just see him in the eye and tell him that she hasn't done anything wrong and he needs to show her proofs of her guilt other than reiterating the pathetic terrace hug.

She can't keep on thinking that she is a bad omen and let the Raiazadas and Guptas run all over her.

Cheers.....

The last line kind of indicates Khushi might have the means to be independent. She should take that route if she can and define her own terms in life.
