Hi everyone,
It's my first post here. Been a silent reader for quite some time now.
It's very disappointing to watch another one bite the dust. This show, the lead characters, dialogues, had so much depth and feel, once upon a time. It's a pity that the CV's are hell bent on ruining their own characters.
Read quite a few posts about how both Rohit and Sonakshi are right and wrong, and they might even get redeemed eventually. But in a real life situation, would we ever trust a partner who lies so frequently, that it almost becomes a part of who she is. Or would we imagine being in an intimate relationship with someone who blames you alienates you from himself and the family when things go wrong?! This would be so emotionally draining, and yet it happens in every other household.
These are the costs of deception partners rarely even consider.
Trust is extremely fragile. Secrets and lies jeopardize trust and can damage us and our relationships, sometimes irreparably.
We all tell 'white lies', like Sonakshi does, in her case, for the greater good, which unfortunately ends up with her digging her own grave. As do we use our partners like punching bags when we lose our composure, like Rohit. But in an intimate relationship, emotional honesty is of utmost importance. As is unconditional and unwavering support. But you got to earn and give both. It's never one person's job.
Dishonesty blocks real intimacy with a partner. Intimacy is based on authenticity - the ability to be vulnerable and 'naked', not only physically but also emotionally. Will Rohit ever be able to trust Sonakshi, the way one would in real life? Or will he forever live in fear of being deceived?
Similarly, Sonakshi, who wanted a normal life with her partner and a big family, away from all the stardom, be able to lead a fear-free life where she doesn't have to worry about being treated like an outsider by her own partner and extended family when all hell breaks loose?
Yes, I understand Indian shows come with a lot of drama, which is somehow required for TRPs, but in real life, a couple like them would need professional counselling. Forget the others, they have some serious issues between the two of them, which won't be resolved with mere forgiveness. Maybe, I'm hoping for too much, but I wish the CV's would treat us to a few heart-warming scenes between the duo, where they atleast acknowledge, if not address these issues.
Apologize for the long post, but it's something very close to my heart. And I believe come what may, transparency and unflinching support are the two pillars on which a relationship stands, and flourishes. And Ronakshi have a long way to go.
