Even though Katrina is technically an outsider, she was promoted heavily by Salman in the initial years and she got a good headstart because of that, which helped her establish herself. But after that it's been her hardwork.

Yes foreigner. actually her first success came from bachchan movie Sarkar. salman akshay both helped her but she was still an outsider.

She wasn't actually launched by Salman, her first movie was Boom and she got the attention from Bollywood due to her success as a model.
