Chhapaak Is A Big FLOP

Chhapaak is a big FLOP as it grossed under 26 crore nett in the first week. The film was doing poor business and it CRASHED on Thursday when the holiday factor went out of the equation. There are not many major films that lose money today due to revenue from satellite and television but Chhapaak will be one of those rare losers

The failure of the film is being blamed on the controversy around Deepika Padukone visits to a college in Delhi which got bad publicity and an image of a bad PR exercise but it has not failed due to that but because of the content. The film only needed 40-50 lakh footfalls to be a success or even a hit and a controversy cant stop a film getting that much footfalla if the film is genuinely good. Maybe if you needed 1 crore or more footfalls then the controversy could have been an issue. The rejection is across the board with even the high end multiplexes in metros having poor collections. Its so bad that the second Friday could be lower than the fourth Friday of a holdover release like Good Newwz. The collections of Chhapaak till date are as follows.

Friday - 4,50,00,000 apprx

Saturday - 6,50,00,000 apprx

Sunday - 7,00,00,000 apprx

Monday - 2,00,00,000 apprx

Tuesday - 2,25,00,000 apprx

Wednesday - 2,25,00,000 apprx

Thursday - 1,25,00,000 apprx

TOTAL - 25,75,00,000 apprx

What is the actual collection? Hindustan Times is reporting the week1 figure to be slightly above 29 crores? And BOI as under 26 crores? That's more than 3 crores difference.

Is this true? 10 days total collection around 33 crores? Lifetime around 40 crores possible?

Chhapaak Falls Apart In Second Weekend

Chhapaak fell apart in the second weekend as it collected only 3.50 crore nett and is yet to even hit the 30 crore nett mark in ten days. The collections over the second weekend were less than Good Newwz which was in its fourth weekend and also the new Hollywood release Dr Dolittle which collected around 5 crore nett. Not only that a film like Jai Mummy Di was beating it many centres of North..

The ten day collections of the film are 29.25 crore nett and after two weeks the film will probably be standing at around 31 crore nett which makes the 35 crore nett mark an impossible task. The business of the film is awful all over with West Bengal being the only circuit with respectable numbers. Tanhaji - The Unsung Warrior not doing well in West Bangal probably helped the film a little in that circuit. The collections of Chhapaak till date are as follows.

Friday - 4,50,00,000 apprx

Saturday - 6,50,00,000 apprx

Sunday - 7,00,00,000 apprx

Monday - 2,00,00,000 apprx

Tuesday - 2,25,00,000 apprx

Wednesday - 2,25,00,000 apprx

Thursday - 1,25,00,000 apprx

Week One - 25,75,00,000 apprx

Friday - 75,00,000 apprx

Saturday - 1,25,00,000 apprx

Sunday - 1,50,00,000 apprx

Second Weekend - 3,50,00,000 apprx

TOTAL - 29,25,00,000 apprx
