This festival usually comes in the month of January and it is the first day of the sun’s transit into Makara and start for longer days.

On the Occasion of Pongal People offer prayers in the temple and get along with friends and family and even exchange gifts to renew social bonds. People have a special dish named Pongal which is sweetened rice boiled with lentils

Rongali or Bohag Bihu goes on for seven days, which includes worshipping cows, cleaning households, and praying to God. One of the most important and auspicious festivals of Assam. Derived from the Sanskrit word bishu, it means “to ask for prosperity from the Gods during the harvesting season”.
