The scenes and dialogues were kinda comparison frame by frame copy, but that is what Venga wanted, but approach, very different. Kabir was more intense, while Arjun was more emotionally driven.

I haven’t watched both the movies but just in few scenes in this video Shahid clearly has outdone Vijay...There is so much ease and flow in his acting and dialog delivery which I didn’t find in Vijay(at least in whatever was shown in this video and this I am saying as a Vijay ki pankhi)....Shahid just showed baap baap hota hai aur beta beta......👏

I think this is where it gets interesting, Shahid's Kabir Singh was someone while a manchild, always wanted to maintain his dominance, while Arjun Reddy was more of an emotionally charged. You can see in that beating scene with Amit, Kabir doesn't cry, while Arjun nearly breaks down. Very different approach, so it's kinda silly people saying Shahid copied Arjun, while true he took inspiration for many aspects, but that is because Venga wanted to keep the spirit intact.

Was it for Best Actor for Kabir Singh? Shahid was way better than Ranveer. Kabir Singh was not an easy character to play, even though I detest such men and found the movie to be deeply flawed. If Ranveer or anyone would've played KS, they would've screwed it up. And I enjoy Ranveer's performances.

Shahid was aggressive yet restrained. He was brilliant as Kabir Singh. I watched Arjun Reddy as well but felt Shahid was better than Vijay. Shame Shahid didn't win it, while last year Ranbir was winning for Sanju was okay and everyone was praising him. Double standards.

Shahid is much better performer than Ranveer in my opinion. 2 actors who could give him takkar at time are Ranbir and Rajkumar. Only advantage Ranveer have over these brilliant talents is a physique which he can mould to play any character. But acting embodies emoting and intensity not just dramatisation and fancy dress and imitating quirky mannerisms.

I am on Deepika fan who dont find the need to hype Ranveer just because my fav got married to him.

Shahid is an excellent actor who sadly didn't get the recognition he deserves. A Tommy Singh or a Haider are very difficult characters to portray on screen. I saw the boring Batti Gul Meter Chalu and only Shahid kept me engaged in the movie.

Each actor has a different skill set as I like to call it. Ranveer has his own. Its impossible to compare the two. If Ranveer was given a Haider he would make it very caricaturish. Same way Shahid couldn't do a Bajirao or Khilji. But awarding a Murad over a Kabir Singh is laughable. KS easily overpowers Murad, performance wise. And I say this as I enjoyed both performances and being unbiased.

I don't think Ranbir or Rajkumar can also be compared to Shahid when it comes to acting. Ranbir had his moments with Rockstar, Tamasha, Barfi (which he was flawless in undoubtedly). Rajkumar is more of the guy next door middle class seedha saadha types. Shahid can act and dance brilliantly too. But I doubt if the two could do certain roles Shahid has done.

Shahid manages to perform as the guy next door, the aggressive drug addict, the masala hero and the serious subtle emoting guy (Jab We Met).

So for me looking at performances only its Ranveer who can give takkar to Shahid...but Kabir Singh as a character Murad ko kha jaye, that was a powerful performance.

PS: I enjoy Deepika's work too! (I don't call myself a fan coz then people tend to think I will defend my fave in everything 😂) Did u like Chapak's trailer??

Yep but I found Khilji as caricature in some moments of the movie. Also Ranveer flatters a lot when he has to underplay, In Lootera/ Bajirao I found him very blank when he had to convey subdued emotions. Ofcourse every actor has his strength but so far Ranbir/Rajkumar have convinced me as characters in most of their movies. I find an ease and vulnerability in their performances which so far I have not gotten from Ranveer. Shahid is a fantastic dancer., yess.

I liked the Chapak trailer. It was not what I was expecting but pleasantly surprised me. Deepika has her act right in my opinion. Hoping its an inspirational as well as light hearted movie.

Khilji was caricaturish at some points yes. I really loved Bajirao but I haven't watched Lootera...dozed off in the first 10 minutes 😂😂

DP surprised me in Chappak. I think its difficult to emote with the prosthetics on but she did a great job. Her eyes and expressions were on point. I think it's gonna do great!
