Right from the beginning of this show media has been waiting to sensationalize events and depict Parvathi the icon had made a wrong choice. The way mahesh the stalker hijacked the news. the way the journalist in Pune got Sona framed after the humiliation of insisting she wears a skimpy dress and gyrated... today's episode where Tapasya vows she would dhow who she is all highlight the way media can make or break a celebrity.

There is no ethics in news gathering and victimisation. The threats to boycott if Naren didn't tender an apology the misrepresentation to increase the gossip quotient of a article media is portrayed as heartless.

Ever since the paparazzi lead Diana and her lover to death....the way media played into the hands of the terrorist on 26/11 are reminders how things can go awry.

We have to watch the price of that one photo the Sippys pay.

Thanks for this post. Media is brutal and it's nit just indian media. When it comes to religion, this happens. Like how all the terrorist attacks are blamed on Muslims, how what's going on in Syria and other middle eastern courtries where so many innocent ppl including babies dying are not covered by the media while if a museum or church is on fire, even if there's no one harmed, it's alll over the news. it happens everywhere and it's horrible

With print and channel media hungry for information every minute, it's really sad that private lives of celebrities be it sportsmen or actors becomes news. Media can sway opinions for sure ... they are even divided about weather ... one channel shows flooded areas, people affected by floods and the other channel shows there's absolutely no disruption ... Depends on which party sponsors.. On top of media, we have social media trolls Kudos to this gen celebrities who tell aloud that their personal life is no one's business ...

ISIS is Muslim ..alqueida is Muslim ..

Other religions there r random men attacks ..but these type of organised terror organisations i don't see in other religions as of in the 19 th and 20 the century

I am from hyd.def media did wrong .but victim family did not object telling her name and police released her pic to media and media forgot the rules . .police also started talking her real name and media forgot the rules in over enthusiasm.but they were not senseless.they showed concern on victim family .

Blaming media for every thing has become a fashion .

Is media cause of disha rape .

No..the RTO officer though caught the lorry but did not seize it and arrest the driver for driving with out license is the cause .

If he wAs arrested then no rape ..

Media has partiality goes overboard ...no one denies it .

But hate media like any thing and saying it's the most disgusting ever happened is not correct

First hate the police revenue politicians bureaucrats judges and last media

@ bold and Black I belong to hydabad too. Blaming the victim or the victims family in such a time as this is one of the worse thing one can do. If Media houses well equipped with their individual legal cells and access to the top most lawyers of the country can flout laws or claim ignorance to laws then the victims family would be the last to be aware of it.

@ bold red I dont recall blaming media for everything I blamed them for what they had done publishing the victims name even though they are well aware that the name of the victim should not be revealed.

@ bold blue I dont see where and How I placed the blame of rape on the media. I explicitly placed the blame of knowingly flouting the supreme court ruling and IPc and CRPc by revealing the victims name and for what?

@ bold and green media has gone over board far too many times. I will stick to rape case for examples. Lets start with Nirbhaya because that is from the memory begins.....Media constantly tried to track down the male friend of the victim when he was given a safe haven by the police to a level that he was about to give a public interview to a Channel. Had the police not intervened in time his interview would have proven detrimental to the case as well as the investigation.

Malyalam actors identity residence and many such details were disclosed by the kairali tv when she was raped in Delhi. The media had gone ahead and even insinuated an affair between her driver(the prime perpetrato) and her. News Papers like Times of India had been epitome of disgrace in the name journalism.

On february 19 2017 a girl was gangraped near hauz khas in the Deer park.

The Times of India, disclosed several details about her identity, including her ethnicity, right in the headline – which has no bearing on the fact that it was an alleged rape case and not one based on race or ethnicity. It however, changed its initial headline to read ‘Woman alleges rape at Deer Park.’

The TOI report also included the name of the neighbourhood where the victim lives as well as what she does for a living and the area in which she works – details that have no relevance to the story and which go against Section 228A of the Indian Penal Code, according to which anyone who “publishes the name or any matter which may make known the identity” of a rape survivor is liable to imprisonment of two years. TOI, in its news story, went on to sneak in several opinions, which again, had no bearing on the case. “The woman had gone pub-hopping,” the report stated, also using the term “revelry” to describe their evening of “pub hopping.”

While these details are irrelevant to the alleged assault since the crime did not occur in any of restaurants that the woman visited that night, all they do is contribute to victim shaming attitudes or imply that a victim who allegedly was under the influence was ‘asking for it’ or ‘had it coming.’

Asifa a minor brutally murdered and raped was trending on pronograhic searches why because media had been callus while taking her name.

I can write numerous such cases Arushi Talwar is another one where the media went on to insinuate a love affair between the slain servant and the Teenager and labeled it as a case for honor killing.

I dont even want to talk about the documentary India's daughter another of the media's crude way to encash on a case that had literally caused grave hurt to Indian society and this time the news was twisted and turned by foreign media to suit their selfish ends.

I am not even going to go into 26/ 11 or kargil war or Roy Mathews suicide. I will also not go into how the Indian media talked about Osama bin laden being a great father or how Mohammed pasha is the sole bread winner for his family and how well he takes care of his old father. Just in case you are wondering who Mohammad Pasha is, he is the Prime accused in Disha's case.

@ bold and pink I would strongly suggest state your opinions as much as you want for you have a right to express. But don't order or advise what I should or should not do. It is neither your place nor your position to do so. Next time do refrain from telling me how my reaction to anything should be.

I agree both the instances resulted in life loss. The 26/ 11 was as callus and as reckless a reporting by Barkha Dutt as possible. She revealed the spots and every movement that the police and security forces were taking untill NDTV was unplugged.

Rajdeep Sardesai has gone on record to say that he had asked the guards to close the gates of parliament when he was covering the normal parliament day on a friday and suddenly the parliament was under attack. His main concern was that no other media house should be able to cover the news. and he actually called himself a vulture. He called the day Indian parliament was attacked as great. look for that you tube video where he talks about it. The kind of insensitivity he displays while talking about it shows how ethical media is.

No one saying media does not do wrong and it is so pure

What I intend to say is police bureaucrats judges and politicians doing more harm to country than any one .

Media def going over board and doing wrong too ..

In hyd case now RTO is saying he told to police regarding unlicensed driver and seizing of vehicle but police did not care

If police performed their duty there would have been no rape

So police are sxcums in this case and media of course looking to sensationalize every thing

No one blaming hyd victim family .

Harm to society is fond by police politicians and judges and last by media which shows blatant shameless partiality
