The opposite happened to me. Saw him on Hell's Kitchen and could not believe anybody could have a polite conversation with him..but then chanced upon him cooking with his daughter on his own show and I was so 😳
The guy's such a sweetheart on MasterChef Junior. The way he talks to kiddie chefs... 😆

My views changed after I saw his tours videos, where he is learning from people.across Asia Thailand, India, Combodia and so on. He looks so eager to learn and participate, rare quality in people who have reached his level of success and expertise in their field.

Gordan looks like a monster when he is teaching/judging, but he is humble and attentive as cow when he is learning, probably the reason why he is so successful.
There is a stark difference between UK version and is version. He is usually nice in UK version whereas in US version Fox has him shout at the chefs. Same goes for Kitchen Nightmares.
He is kind of chill irl too. Met him at his restaurant in Vegas.

Yes, I think most of his rage stuff is done because he became popular, and studios want to cash on it. I mean some of the so called cooks whom he gives hair dressers are so dumb, probably scripted.
Also damn, how.many celebs have you meet, I am getting jelly lol.

Oh! The show Great Escape! I loved that show. More than anything else the way he behaved with local chefs and the locals. There's an obvious language barrier but he was still being self deprecating and sarcastic about his own skills compared to them and then cracking jokes with them. His learning skills are meticulous too.
He's an actual cook along with being a celebrity chef. Not just a stupid hack of a celeb chef like David Rocco. All that guy does is go to places and put Parmesan cheese and Olive oil on stuff. LIKE LITERALLY THATS ALL HE DOES. His India based show was such a mess. Any local Indian recipe and he is adding Parmesan cheese and Olive oil and saying it's an Italian twist 😆

Lol.. Not enough and not the ones I wish I met. This one was by chance but have always liked him so it was good that image of his remained intact.
Also through his show is how I knew about Sadhguru.
