Actual shooting didn’t start till February if 2018. So it was in different phases of preproduction for 4 years I guess. Although there were soft announcements of when they’ll start shooting in those four years as well, so 🤷🏻‍♀️. But once they started shooting it’s official release date was this past August on India’s Independence Day 2019. Then it changed to Christmas of 2019. Then this one weird tweet came that said they had seen portions shot and it was just very badly made. Tweet got deleted soon and a couple of months later Ayan wrote that open letter saying the movie had to move to summer of 2020 because he was doing Indian cinema a huge favor and needed more time. Last part I’m obviously paraphrasing 😆. As of now it has no official release date and Alia’s Sadak2 is rumored to release in July so I’m guessing next summer might be out too. There’s a reason people assume all negative blinds about a Dharma production is about Brahmstra. It’s been a hot mess.

I dont understand why they are not completing the shoot, alia is filming sadak 2 and rk is filming shamshera, why are they not completing the film they started first? What is ayan doing? Alia is now meeting Slb to start on her next film

It definitely seems like they have made changes to the film and added more shooting schedules, it reminds me of jagga jasoos with all of its reshooting

Don’t remember for sure but it was one of those Bollywood box office or Bollywood news type twitter handles. I remember checking the handle and it was one that at the time had followers in several thousands.


I do think portions of it is being reshot. The Bulgaria schedule kind of changed because Alia hurt her shoulder, or so goes their story. The Varanasi schedule ended abruptly because Alia wasn’t feeling well but then she was well enough to travel to New York the next day. So the flow of it seems very broken.
