As always, this was a beautifully shot episode. Mateen's scenes were especially good.

I feel my deduction from the promo was proven true. Danish has turned out to be a lousy father. He's not provided any kind of emotional support for poor Rumi, to the extent that Rumi felt compelled to ask to be sent to a boarding school and Danish just said yes.

He didn't take it as a sign that his kid is in need of emotional support and parental comfort.

Then when the poor kid's acting out because he's not getting the emotional support he needs, Danish gives him a stern speech that was frankly very emotionally manipulative.

As far as parenting goes Mehwish and Danish are both massive failures and have let Rumi down big time. Poor kid deserves better.

I also hated Hateem's dialogue: 'aurat fitran bewafi nahi karti, aur jo bewafi karti hai woh fitran aurat nahi hoti'.

And in the promo, Hira Mani's dialogue: 'Main milongi ek baar aap ki biwi se, dekhongi apne matlab ke liye apni aulad ko chodne wali dekhne mein aurat lagti hai?'

What kind of messed up logic is that? A woman is a woman, no matter what she does. Women who have affairs are still women.

Just like men who have affairs remain men.

Is Mateen not a 'mard' because he had an affair? Is Shewar not a mard because he not only had an affair but purposefully lured a married woman into having an affair too?

Women are not perfect, and there's no justice in holding them to a standard of perfection.

Women are human, and humans make mistakes.

Expecting women to be above natural human traits is dangerous and disgusting. It gives men a sense of entitlement and makes them feel they're 'allowed' to abuse and denigrate women who do something wrong because actually, they're not women at all. It dehumanises women and makes it easier for people to treat them like dirt, and refuse them their basic human rights.

It's perfectly fine to lose respect for someone who does something wrong. It is not at all ok to mistreat or dehumanise someone who does something wrong.

This jabardasti ka putting a woman on a pedestal and then expecting her to behave like a saint otherwise resorting to stoning her if she doesn’t match up to these expectations is not just disgusting but dangerous also, like you said!

That’s why Mateen’s dialog about how its the good women who keep world together not men , left me uneasy and not able to appreciate his rest of the words.....

Also this waiting for the destruction of Mehwish is another thing that’s quite not resonating with me at all...Yes Mehwish did sin and she will be punished but if she regrets and seeks redemption wholeheartedly, she should be allowed to live her rest of the life in peace if not happiness...

For once, I would like to watch a drama where a woman is allowed to live her life to the fullest after seeking redemption for her sins!

Usually bad women in dramas loose their mind in the end, or die by terminal illness, but if you show them with no consequence that will not gel well with the desi audience. Our cullture believes in what goes around comes around....so If mehwish is forgiven by rumi and Danish, there has to be veryyyyyyy good reason.

I think another reason for this unease is because we've seen Khalil's interview and we can see him saying these things about all women. For me at least, it's no longer a specific situation where they're talking about Mehwish. I feel it implied towards all of us- it's a very simplistic approach where a woman is either basically a saint or she's some kind of 'fallen woman'. There's no shades in between. Before we could speculate that he hated women, but now after all the weird things he's said, it somehow makes it real?

I've never liked the aurat fitratan bewafa nahi hoti dialogue even when they were using it in the trailer. And I still don't like it and I was weirded out by Hira's dialogue from the promo. I'm not a fan of the way they say 'oh she's not a woman' because women should be like this. I don't quite know why, but it comes off dehumanising, maybe?

This drama is filmed well, and the actors are doing a good job, it just leaves me feeling confused and a little angry.

Poor Rumi, not only is his mother terrible, his dad isn't much of a prize either. How old is Rumi, 6 maybe 7 years old? A few months ago they were arguing about sending him to school for the first time, so I can't imagine he could be older than that? Am I supposed to support Danish for sending his 6 year old to boarding school... because he asked to go? This isn't a 16 year old, or even a 13 year old who you can discuss things with. You don't let a kid Rumi's age make life decisions- that's the whole point of having parents! And then Danish had the nerve to emotionally blackmail the poor kid into not making trouble at school. They should have aged Rumi to be a pre-teen if they wanted to play this like they are, because I'm outraged at the way Danish is acting with regards to Rumi. Like, Mehwish was a terrible person who left him and their kid without looking back, but why doesn't he support his kid through this terrible time instead of his own pain and his revenge plans to be a rich business man? Is he the better parent because he didn't physically walk out of the door? Because from where I'm looking at it, he's failed Rumi as well.

I was glad Haniya was horrified that he was letting Rumi make decisions, but it was also kind of weird because, the lady teaches at a boarding school, is she asking all the parents why they've decided to send their kids there?

I completely agree with you. Whenever they show women cheat, they have a bad ending and can not get redemption. Examples: Khudparast. Bharosa Pyar Tera. Khasara. Its as if only the men can show that they have learned and it is ok. Even in Zanmureed, he abuses her, cheats on her in a way, and in the end she forgives him. Im sure in Bewafa they will show Ali Rehman will be back with Naveen too. Its just something that Pakistan should show at least a few times, that the woman can also have redemption.

There was that strange drama, I was discussing on here a couple of days ago- Tumhare Hain. Sarah Khan was able to live happily ever after with her husband after cheating on him with Agha Ali.

Though they probably gave her a happy ending because it would have been weird if Agha Ali's wife had taken him back after their affair and her husband hadn't, lol.
