And then there are mango people like me who found him to clown and why should i accept something that s not the ultimate truth and its just an opinion if khilji is high standard then it say a lot about how low standards are

Plus are really going to compare ranveer with ranbir like seriously it will take many many years for ranveer to be half as good as rk in terms of acting

I can say the same. Your perception isn’t reality and no amount of justifications will change that. No the character didn’t require to be ott nor does the business prove he did a good job as there’re other factors of why the film worked

Also many great performances of great actors are neglected by mango people it doesn’t mean they didn’t act well like nawaz or irfan. Same goes with bad performances by Salman and mango people make those movies super hits doesn’t mean he acted well

So that’s about star power and pulling the crowd to theater doesn’t mean he acted well or is a good actor baaki we know why padmavat did the business it did

Sunjay is a much mediocare actor than ranveer in every role.

It depends on how the film is writing and interpreting the character. SLB had an almost larger than life vision of Khilji. He was maniacal, loud, crude, and obsessively fixated. He also needed a Khilji who dances and performs in song sequences. Ranveer Singh fit the bill of what SLB exactly wanted.

To be honest, I found SLB's Khilji to be one-note and caricaturish. The character development left no room for nuance for Khilji's prowess as a war general, his patronage of arts in the Delhi Sultanate, or any shades of grey in an otherwise dark character. If SLB wanted a layered character - there are many actors who could have played Khilji with finesse.

Panipat's Ahmed Shah Abdalli appears to be heavily inspired by SLB's Khilji. Except Sanjay Dutt has a sense of restraint to him. How Abdalli plays out in the whole movie, how Sanjay Dutt executes him and whether it could have been translated into Padmavat is to be seen.

If some people didn't like Ranveers performance as khilji then that's ok, people are allowed to have different opinions, I am just happy that he got a largely positive response for his performance from critics and audience, many people loved wat he did with the role

Slb wanted his khilji to be larger than life and excessive, in the making of the film Slb told Ranveer to be even more flamboyant, if Slb wanted his khilji to be refined and restrained then that's how rs wud have performed
