Swara is annoying but everyone knows aunty and uncle are used as a sly way to insult people and it's been that way for a long time. Swara also insulted that horrible woman with that aunty comment. It wasn't meant to be respectful.

errr... Swara was obviously just joking. She is annoying and shouldn't have minded a 4 year old. Obviously the kid didn't mean it in any bad way.

But parents *are* stupid for teaching this uncle/aunty stuff to their kids because nobody likes it. Literally nobody. People are graceful and accept it when they need to but it's still not liked. Just teach them to say 'ji' or mam or sir. It's that not that hard.

You will see even 25 year old desis calling 30 year olds uncles and aunties when they address them. It's not respectful, it's cheap. The words have become insults and everyone knows it.

Kids calling someone with more than 20-30 years of age gap.. Uncle or Aunt is not cheap or an insult.

And Its basic understanding too among young adults to not use words like uncle aunt and use Sir or Mam.

We can't marginalize basic civil sense just because of some corrupting minds in society misusing common words to their helms.
