Kalyani ki diwali see problem nahi thi. But since AS has no money and still she has no job so iss par ke log mahaye uss par ki nahi then she felt bad. It is not about atuls death completely if so she wouldn't have ordered for patakas before so she just said that let them not.

Feeling like his plan right from AnuSar's marriage has been to send to the hostel by hook or crook. Cause I think he realized then that Kalyani and his family will continue clashing which will just ruin Kalyani's studies. Especially now that Anupriya is also there, Kalyani will sit and fight all her battles for her.
He's doing this thing where he's being harsh with her without being too harsh with her in order to push her away and make her want to go to a hostel.
