You are right, she does not at all care about her self-respect and most of us cannot really imagine any real woman doing what she does. She seems like a pushover victim of blackmailing by all and sundry.

But, it is what she is. She has been sacrificial right from the first episode, when she surrenders herself to a shady stranger for the sake of her loved ones - earlier it was for her parents and family, later it was for her love Anurag. That is her core inherent nature, she can go to any lengths to protect her loved ones even if it means to decimate herself. And she's determined. And she will keep doing this, is what I have accepted.

I am irritated by this trait of hers, but I cannot hate or preach her. I don't want to shake her by her shoulders and forcibly make her realize her self-worth. I want to maybe just hug her, and let her know she's loved too and free to do her own thing as and when she wants. And the fact that, even as such an impractical character, she evokes this emotion in me proves what a great actress Erica is! 👏👏

All through this post you’ve basically agreed with what I and many have said, she has no self-respect but you are OKAY with it. That’s your perspective. You want to HUG her, many of us want to SHAKE her. You can applaud her traits if you want to but many of us feel the opposite.

There’s no moral compassing. It’s a criticism of her behaviour as a person who doesn’t really care for her own self-worth. Like there is no other meat to her character sketch.

Bajaj had zero respect for Prerna, as an individual or as a woman. He completely disregarded any of her feelings, desires and self-respect and the fact that she was pregnant! LOL the deal itself was a bad idea. Bajajs treatment towards Prerna in their relationship was NOT. If it was that bad, she wouldn’t have been so open with him. She even freely took care of Anurag knowing that Bajaj won’t say anything. She was open to taunt Bajaj knowing he would just take it. She could even ask him ‘why are you late?’ And make light-hearted remarks like ‘you know how to dance?’. Even after she saw Bajaj tried to kill Anurag, she didn’t file for divorce. In fact she was taken aback at first. She let him embrace her and Kukki in the hospital despite what happened.

Yes, she was treated badly by Bajaj :)

They gave up FL's characterization for the sake of such unhealthy so called love.

Perhaps that could be the reason why the poor character sketch doesn’t bother some people. Over time maybe they’ll expect more out of their female lead. At least in 2019, I do.

She will never learn. As long as she links her existence to the men in her life, she will never learn. She has been insulted by the man she loves, by his family innumerable number of times. Her mother has been insulted by her soulmate's family. She didn't feel bad for any of those things.

Now, she has been thrown out of the house in the middle of the night and she will still be ok with it. So basically as a woman, as a daughter and as a lover her self respect is ZILCH. I don't know whether she even being a mother will change her because till now, she's shown ZERO concern for the baby growing inside her.

Yeh her lack of conversation/connect with her unborn child makes me think she won’t be changing anytime soon. This is exactly the problem people have from a writing perspective. Give her MORE to think about than just Anurag or the Basus. They’re dishing out a very one-dimensional female lead

With Bajaj, they made a Deal, then HE worked to make that marriage work, lost his Damn mind and gave her everything she ever wanted back. Even though Maasi plotted against Vee, she supported her against Basus, even when RB was in jail. Within the Bajaj world, she was respected, valued And loved. You think Bajaj would kick her out the way Basus did? Even when Anu was in coma or whatevr, P was free to choose what she wanted to do.

I don’t see that with Basus. Ever. She gives gives and gives. Mohini doesn’t give a flying f**k about Prerna. She has no problems choosing Sona over Pre even though Pre is pregnant with her GRANDCHILD. A woman who you have known for 30 secs over a woman that has literally sacrificed herself for her son. And, What Mohini says the Basus do. From getting her to marry Naveen for her house, to now, Mohini has cost P her freaking life. And, even then P will never be good enough. In the Basu world, Pre doesn’t matter. There will not be anything to even out the power imbalance causing so much toxicity in that relationship.

The treatment she had in both relationships was startlingly different. Of course a few will refuse to accept that Prerna was treated with far more respect with Bajaj & his family.

Fact is, if today she was still in that family there is no way she would be told to leave even if her unborn doesn’t belong to Bajaj. They don’t even have a history with Prerna unlike the Basus who have seen her grow up in front of their eyes.

The answer never! The basu’s will keep disrespecting her and she’ll keep running back to them!

The funny thing is Prerna from 2000 was shown as a strong, independent character but Prerna 2 who is from 2019 is weak with no self respect!!!! 👏👏👏

2019 Prerna made me go watch 2000 Prerna and I’m not sure how the role went in reverse rather than more progressive.

I guess you have all the problems with Anurag and Prerna giving more importance to each other than anything else. So it's ok this is how the writers have planned to go about it so we have no option but to accept or leave it as I mentioned earlier. Rest obviously it's your choice .

I read the wu and the precap ....even Shivi has balls BUT Pre can never have them 😆 will always need someone else to stand up for and that somebody will be anyone but Anu
