Housefull 4 Diwali Day Early Estimate - Good Weekend

Housefull 4 collected 12.5-13 crore nett as per early estimates on Diwali day which is low if looked at business on a normal Sunday but for Diwali day its a good collection. The drops are pretty limited in Mumbai and South with some places being only 15-20% but in North and Central the drops are bigger at 40% but this is the normal trend on Diwali day. Nizam / Andhra and Mysore have hardly dropped with collections down just 10%. The growth on Monday will be much more in North and Central compared to other parts of the country as that audience finally comes to the theaters.

The film has had a three day pre Diwali weekend of 49-50 crore nett which is a good number and the ninth best weekend of the year despite only really having 2.5 days over the weekend and that too when most of the audience goes missing. It is the fifth highest opening weekend for Akshay Kumar and not far off the numbers of the last film in the franchise Housefull 3 which had a normal weekend.

Despite the media being negative as is the norm with these type of films the business will be strong over the next few days as the advances for the next two days are more than pre release advance. The test will come towards the end of the week and on day eight. It will be crucial how Gujarat / Saurashtra finds the film as that circuit alone can add 20 crore nett over the next 4-5 days if the audience really takes to it.

Ae Dil Hai Mushkil and Shivaay grossed 58.50 crore nett between them over the same period a few years back but that was 5800 screens while it is 3900 screens for Hosuefull 4.

Housefull 4 Into Overdrive On Monday

Housefull 4 is looking set for a very strong fourth day as it posts huge growth on Monday. The huge growth is normal for the day after Diwali but there is always a doubt when there is a lot of negativity for a film from the media and this can keep the audience away especially as it is the fourth day now. This happened with Zero last year when it failed to grow much on Christmas Day but Housefull 4 will come out with big numbers on the national holiday.

Housefull 4 will double its collections for sure which will take it to the 28-29 crore nett mark but there is a chance that the final collections could come out higher when figures from the mass centres come as the single screens are recording full houses be it Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, UP or Bihar and they could out perform. The film has a shot at reaching the 30 crore nett mark.

The growth in places like Rajasthan and CI is extraordinary with collections set to treble. A circuit like CI recorded just 30 lakhs nett on Sunday and it could hit the 1 crore nett mark on Monday. The growth will be at least 70% from even day one. At the single screens the collections are double of the first day in most mass markets. The growth is lesser in multiplexes as day one had reasonable numbers. The growth is less in the South as they were pretty good on Sunday but even here the collections are likely to go up 50%.

Saand Ki Aankh has also seen a huge jump in collections and this film could get around 3 crore nett where the number is not so good for a national holiday but at least there is a positive trend for the film and it could sustain in the long run.

Housefull 4 has recorded a huge Monday with collections looking to be 31-32 crore nett and there is a chance it could even go a little higher in the morning as the final numbers of the mass circuits again. The multiplexes have shown huge growth as the top ten multiplex chains in the country record 17 crore nett and this is around 650 cinemas. All these multiplexes chains have seen growth ranging from 100-150% depending on the site locations.

The film has seen house full boards at single screens across the country and has huge collections in UP, Bihar, CPCI Rajasthan and Gujarat / Saurashtra. The latter could top 4 crore nett which would mean Mumbai circuit going to 10 crore nett at least. Delhi / UP looks 6.50 crore nett plus from early estimates which is growth of 275% from Sunday.

The growth is less in the South but that is because there the film has had healthy numbers over the first three days. The four day collections of the film will be around 82 crore nett which is a good number especially as there is always a doubt that negativity for a film can take some of the audience away but despite it being day four the audience has come and given the film a go and now it will depend on the word of mouth of this audience.

It will prove to be the second biggest single day of an Akshay Kumar starrer behind the Sunday of 2.0 (hindi) which was also the fourth day. There is an outside chance it could actually be the biggest but the target for that is 33.2 crore nett which is tough but not impossible. It is also the single highest day ever for a comedy film beating the 30.10 crore nett of Golmaal Again which did it on the very same day but it was not the fourth day there but the first day. It is the third highest Monday of time after Bahubali - The Conclusion (non holiday) and Tiger Zinda Hai (holiday).
