PART 15

Maan dropped Geet’s family and they left for the venue. It was just the two of them in the car and DevTara were in another car. Geet was still lost in her thoughts …. She was confused …. She always wanted to try new things in life. Would it be fine if she agrees? Would it be fine if she doesn’t? She wore a baby pink saree complimenting her skin complexion. She looked outside randomly lost in her thoughts. Maan who was waiting for her to talk understood that she was lost in her world.

He held her hand with one hand managing to drive with the other …. Kuch baat hai jo tumhe pareshaan kar rahahai? …. He asked observing that her fingers were fidgeting with her saree pallo thinking what might be running in her mind. She smiled meekly … ji kuch nahi …. Hum kab tak pahunchenge? She asked diverting the topic not willing to let him know her bothered state.

Two more hours …. And I think it would be better if we talk … it would be easier to pass the time then, he pulled his hand back concentrating on the road.

Aap kuch poochna chahte hain? Kuch janna tha? She asked looking at him. He wondered how she knew his state of mind. He smiled …. Kal hamari baat hui thi Geet …. It should be about you and your feelings too …. Mujhe kabhi kabhi lagta hai ki main aisa kya karon jisse tum apni dil ki baat bina jhijke(hesitation) bataogi … Geet worriedly replied … Aisa kuch nahi hai …. Aap kyun aisa sochte hain?

Kyunki tumhe jaanne laga hoon … You are like an open book to me …. Your face explains everything …. And if I am not wrong you are thinking about bhai’s proposal … He said not wanting to know Geet’s feelings as he was sure her heart was only stuck on the same issue.

Geet was about to open her mouth when Maan continued ….. Socho Geet lekin itna bhi nahi … You know something …Bhai ne bhabi ko bhi kuch aisa hi kaha tha unke shaadi ke time …. After he was done saying his part, Geet smiled feeling lighter at heart. But she did sense that he does want her to work with him …. Aapki dil ki baat mujhe samajh mein agaya …. She did not dare to look at Maan.

Aap videsh mein the … Phir kyun aapne mujhse shaadi ke liye haan kahi? Shayad meri duniya mein utne rang bhi nahi hai …. Geet asked thinking about how he could agree. His thoughts and world seemed to be so different and bigger than hers.

Sawal ka jawab bhi dediya … I guess it should be you who should answer then ….. She looked puzzled thinking what she just said.

Rang nahi hain?? Iss liye?? Yeh kaisibaat hui? She wondered making Maan laugh.

Mujhe rang chahiye bhi nahi Geet ……I only want a simple life with you ……. She was blown with his confession. This is something that needed to sink with her senses.

For her this relationship was not something she prepared herself for. Before she could react, Maan parked the car. He did expect her to say something ……. Maybe at least I would want that simple life with you? She might need some more time maybe. He was always surrounded by girls who used to throw themselves on him with intentions known. Here Geet is someone who doesn’t even open up her feelings even after getting engaged. He brushed his thoughts and opened the door for her to step out. While Geet was contemplating about her reaction. What would she tell him? She so much wished to talk to Madhu, she missed her.

Though Madhuri wanted to accompany her to the function, she had to leave to her boyfriend’s place.

Tara came to Geet’s side and held her hand …… Aap dono apna room mein chale jao, main Geet ko uska room dikhadongi ……. Dev aap hamara saamaan kamre mein rakh dijiye, saying she tookGeet away.

Dev did look at Maan’s disturbed face …... Tum pareshaan lag rahe ho? Koi baat hui tum dono ke beech mein? He asked.

Aisa kuch nahi hai bhai …… chliye dulhe se milte hai, saying Maan went inside the house.

Geet ab jab humne tumhara room set kardiya ek hafte ke liye toh main tumhe kisise milana chahti thi …… Actually,dadima wanted you to meet her, Tara smiled leading Geet towards a room.

Geet saw an elderly woman maybe 75 or 80 year old sitting on a rocking chair reading a book as she entered the room.

Daadi lo aagayi Maan ki hone wali patni…… saying Tara looked at Geet ….. She is dadima’s friend aur abhi shaadi mein jo dulha hai uski daadi ……. Aap dono baat karlo, main thodi der mein wapas aaongi ….. dulhe raja se milke aati hoon, saying she left.

Aao bete …. Baithiye ……. Koi bhichair lelo …… Daadi smiled looking keenly at Geet ….. ab mere aakhein bhikamjor{weak} ho gaye hai …… lekin aapki khubsoorti dikhayi de rahi hai ……. Mere Maan ki Dulhan to waise hi hai jaise maine chaha ……… shaayad usse kayi jyada khubsoorat… Pari ke jaise

Geet blushed and sat near her feet ….Held her legs …… ab dekhiye mere chehre ko daadi, saying she smiled.

Upar baitho bete ......... hum thik hain, Daadi’s heart warmed with Geet’s gesture.

Main yaha thik hoon …… Aapse aise hi baat karne ka mann kar raha hai …… Geet ran her hand over Daadi’s payal in the process.

Aapke paayal kitne sundar hain, Geet said mesmerized with them.

Aapko chahiye? Mere paas aise waleek aur hain …….. She replied completely impressed with Geet.

Phir kabhi daadi …… Abhi baat karte hain
