Joker vs Avengers : Endgame : Better movie? - Page 2

I have enjoyed both films. They are too different to be compared IMO.

Acting was excellent in both films.

But I think he could have made Joker work based on what he did with Sucker Punch. I just don't think Todd Phillips was the right guy for Joker.

He is more of a comic-book-panel-come-alive kinda director so we would have gotten a more comic-booky set up- thats the only thing I can give him. But he's so gimmicky( He would suit the Riddler more)

I feel Todd did a good job strictly has a director. The story was mega trash yes,but he was able to capture of horror and anxiety of the character well. Anyway,I wish we get del Toro and Muschietti versions of Jokers some day. Hopefully something less propaganda driven.

On the topic,both disappointed me. I was expecting greatness and both were below par. Too much formulaic nonsense in Endgame and too much propaganda in Joker.

I don't know how they managed to fcuk up the story of Joker so bad. There is literally tons of great comic book material out there to adapt from. But comic book adaptation is not easy. Sony messed up with Spiderman. Walking Dead started so well but then messed up the best villains - Negan.

I'm glad we got the Christopher Nolan Joker. Del Toro would be a great one. Don't kill me for this but I am also curious for a Taika Waititi version (which would be more in line with the Adam West Bam Kapow batman)

Wholly agreed on End Game being underwhelming. If there had not been a buildup of all these MCU movies - End Game would have been written off.
