I think there's also a shallow aspect to it, where the public through social media is willing to promote a conventionally very pretty young woman. And some people are clever at using that ability.
It's kind of what happened with Momina too, to an extent. Some people just click with the public and it's easier for them to get famous. And I think the industry cashes in on that fame (I mean I even tried that disaster Hoor Pari after I liked Alizeh in Ishq Tamasha).
And some people have to work hard, Yumna has only now started getting popular mainstream. It took a big character like Bhola for people to see Imran Ashraf was a good actor. Why hasn't anyone given Maryam Nafees a main character yet?
I find Afzar really underrated as an actor, he deserve smore appreciation than what he gets, he was the bets in Aatish and Nazre Bad, I even liked him a lot in Tumhari Natasha and Tanhai

I agree , social media is very important, and that's how Hania Amir started with lead roles in dramas.
I don't think Maryam Nafees is a lead material, I don't know, I watched her in few dramas where she hardly made me notice her acting prowess.😕

I just love him in whatever he does. He has a bad voice, he looks horrible in crying scenes..but still I like him.😳Kaisi Yeh Paheli is my fav drama of his, then Nazre Bad. Hatheli made me notice him, and there was no looking back. 😃
i am still in dilemma to watch Aatish or not

I really liked him in Tumhari Natasha first, then I saw him in Tanhai, then in Kesi Yeh Paheli,
I saw him in Nazre Bad along with Kesi Yeh Paheli as both serials came on air during the same time , he improved a lot in his crying scenes especially in Aatish
I like him too, his voice breaks out easily, but I still like him a lot as an actor, he will always remain my favourite actor and I have watche dhis shows the most , I have watched Hatehli too a bit only for Azfar
I need to watch more serials of his, I miss him on tv, I still need to watch Teri Meri Kahaani , but it is too long or else I would have watched
how was kaisi yeh paheli? the promos looked weird

I saw it a long while ago but from what I remember, it was an overly dramatized rendition of har dil jo pyar karega, without the songs...

Even Aiman and Minal I think. I know they've been around for ages, but they got big when they got big on Instagram etc.
I do agree kind of about Maryam. And I kind of give her credit that she stays within a type that's probably close to herself because those are easier to play. She's not trying tragic, mazloom characters. I do think she's better than some actors who are getting lead roles though.
