Ishq was way back in the 90s when Aamir was a much smaller star. Rang De Basanti and 3 Idiots had no major stars in the movie besides Aamir. Nobody had a role that could compete with his either.

Vikram Vedha is different. It's truly a 2 hero film and the other role would also go to a star name.

Aamir has not said yes. The puzzle is based on a superstar who is in the film.

I’m in agreement with Dexterlove regarding Aamir and multi hero movies. There’s also DCH where Akshay arguably had the better role.

If this blind is hinting at Aamir it’s wrong. He may be an arrogant snob but he’s an arrogant snob about the quality of the movie and not his own screen time. Dangal was his home production and he truly let the girls shine. I really don’t think he would have any ego hassles about screen time with Saif. It’s all a matter of weather he likes the script.

The phrase they used is "self-styled genius." Meaning that it's someone who has tried positioning himself as a genius. Hrithik is a himbo. Someone who considers himself a genius and has tried to create that rep is only Aamir. Saif recently also talked about doing that movie.

2 hero films always have ego clashes. I think it's highly unlikely that Aamir will end up doing it in the end or he will insist on a much lesser name actor opposite him.

Hrithik may not be "genius" like Aamir but he is definitely not a Himbo. The "Himbo" had the common sense to reject Thugs while the "genius" did not

For Aamir its not just his role alone (which he obviously would care), its about the whole picture. If anyone else is going to get highlighted, he won't mind, because ultimately he is confident, and feels assured of two things - 1) people initially come to the movie on his name 2) another good movie in his filmography adds to his star power

Ironically, considering 1, and 2 the blind would apply to Aamir, but ONLY in the context of Vikram Vedha remake. Aamir is supposedly playing Vijay Sethupathi's part, which means there is no way any other star is going to be equal to him no matter how much extra screen time they have. It worked in Tamil because Madhavan was doing an Aamir there. He was the bigger star and he let Sethupathi shine in a crowd-pleasing role. Their pairing makes the movie look balanced which otherwise is heavily tilted in Sethupathi's favour.

I am guessing this is the reason why the remake has been failing to take off for so long. Aamir/SRK or anyone else would love to do Sethupathi role and if they do, it would be impossible for another star to match up. Do a reverse and they wouldn't want to be 'feel' overshadowed by another star.
