I skimmed through pretty much all the other parts other than the ones where this guy was there- he was that good in the drama!

Hey cricketfan1,

Finished watching this drama and you were so true about his character. It was only for him that I kept watching as the rest of the characters didn't grab my interest as such. This guy had such a good role there - the perfect gentleman , a righteous man along with being so understanding and caring.

Usually I like Sana and Ahmad because they are easy on the eyes and can act too, however in this serial Hassam and Samiya, they lacked something, the writing might be sloppy but I wasn't really invested in them. Hassam was an impulsive, rich brat who thought everything should happen his way. I found him self centered. Especially when he decided to use his friend for his own purposes. Marriage and divorce, are they joke to him? Samiya, also I didn't like - first she seemed to be a weakly written character to me, second I found her expressions always the same throughout the episode - that bechari look. When she was living with Ali, a man who gave her so much respect and care, a man who was much better compared to her former husband, she never showed or expressed him the love he deserved and was so restrained.

Anyways, I enjoyed Gohar's performance here. I hope he does more serials where he's the central character in a good romance drama. Even a villain character would do, a kind of villain who has depth, as in you know where he is coming from, you hate him yet you keep going back because he has grabbed your interest.

Here in Ramz-e-Ishq, there's no chemistry, story is being dragged unnecessarily. Could have become watchable had they explored the relationship between Gohar and the main girl's character after marriage. However, they have brought another girl and but the looks of the promos, there are going to be more crying scenes, Fariya's character is about to start her drama soon too. Most probably skip this one.

I am glad you enjoyed watching Gohar's part...The show indeed ends up becoming his show by the last episode even though it didn't start that way! :)

I gave up on Ramz-E-Ishq already...I remember seeing Gohar in Mann Mayal also but there also he was the accidental husband who turns out to be a rogue...Wonder why he acts in these kind of roles all the time...

It is because of his looks, he can't play lead roles. So he gets only those offers. 😔

I too quit REI . Hiba looks old in this drama, donno why! She's relatively a newcomer, but she lost her charm very soon.🤔

Guess he got stereotyped. I was reading his wikipedia page and he said he will only do shows when TV upgrades itself to his standards. A person who has such views, you'd think he would be very choosy. I guess for some reason he had to compromise. He can act for sure. I hope he gets good opportunities, the kinds he's looking for, in the future.

That is the sad truth of our society. As I was watching the drama Paiwand, often I wondered what was it that made the director choose him as the second male lead and not for Hassam's role. Obviously because by society's standards he isn't the most attractive face around especially not when compared to Ahmad or Mikaal.

But he still possesses that charm and is attractive in his own way.

Another good thing I found about him is that, as Ali from Paiwand, when he smiles it is this sweet and gentle smile but if you look here in REI, in one the recent episodes when the main girl calls him after reaching home, he tells her Mikaal's character mistreated him and warns how it won't be good if this continues, he hangs up and there is this sinister smile he gives. There is a vast difference between both. That is a sign of good actor, changing as and when the character and script demands.

I might be going overboard with my praise for him, it's just that I feel whether it was Paiwand or REI, it was Gohar's character that stood out for me.

What? He divorced her? 😲and that scene in promos which show him attacking her? Did it happen? And did Rayan marry his other cousin? I quitted earlier but I want to know.😳
