If it's not difficult to pass University exams, then the loophole we need to fix is that and not anything else. Make it harder to crack exams and make the system more foolproof.

Many lower caste ppl are treated like shit even now in bihar, Andhra n many other places... Now 25% of kerala is filled with them.. They do any n every job here even though they get paid less n if asked why they are here, 'atleast here we will get paid n nobody treat us like animals for our caste..'

Caste system exist and they are suffering till date, if a section of same caste is enjoying privileges then big deal...evn I lost my uni seat to sc/st n was pissed at that time bt now I do understand..

Its just like racism n feminism... Ppl who are suffering because of all the discrimination is still suffering n others get all the fruits of their pain...

I'm talking about PG seats not MBBS degree. Waise bhi MBBS degree is of no use now. Everyone wants to get treated by a specialist. I don't mind them getting scholarships, but atleast in PG entrance, they have to remove reservation.

Same is applicable to PG exams, not just UG. Reservation should remain across PG and PhD too.

I have been noticing this since quite sometime now. This TM is posting a lot of stuff unrelated to Bollywood like about caste discrimination, profession which deserves highest honour, and about some seven sins. I'm sure he/ she is enjoying with popcorn seeing this discussion and people fight🤢. And why can't the mods close this shitty topic?

Wow! So we are back to square one now. PG entrance exams are extremely tough to crack. The whole point is people who aren't even getting 50% marks are getting into fields like Surgery, OBG, General Medicine. Whereas the ones who are getting good marks are settling for non clinical subjects. Well I have nothing more to say. And I don't think this discussion is going anywhere. It's just going round in circles. So yeah let's end it here

I agree; we can end it whenever you want.

Let the PG uni exams be strict enough so that no "bad doctor" can pass out. That looks like a solution to me, one that doesn't exclude lower castes from making a profession as specialists

I second that. Reservation needs to go from super specialty programmes and at least all PhD programmes etc. These programmes come with a huge opportunity cost for the ones funding these. Trying to implement reservation in it is like getting stuck in a cycle of broken window economics. Most of the premier institutes have no choice but to follow distribution based relative grading scale in these programmes because of the ever evolving nature of material. There is no standardized way to pass or fail. Learning is the focus not on a passing percentage. Anyone who has been through a good higher education program would agree that. There is no way any standardization can be obtained to somehow justify reservation based on the flawed reports of political committees formed decades ago. I don't care if somebody wants to have reservations in Bollywood, post of Prime Minister of India or President of USA because these are already dependent on the collective outlook, intelligence (or lack of it) of the society. But when dealing with pushing the boundaries of science, I would rather have the best of the best dealing with it.

Which is precisely why Reservation is a highly flawed way of addressing the issue. I agree that people from low caste are the ones who continue to suffer even today in the most deplorable manner in their day to day lives. So, I am not totally against Reservation. My only problem is those who are fairly well to do should be excluded from the benefits of reservation. During my college days, I used to feel enraged because some people with as low as 70 percent marks got admission in the same course for which I had to score at least 90 percent. And these students were richer than me considering they changed their iPhones every 3-4 months and I spent my whole graduation in a broken screen Samsung. So yes I believe exclusion should be there.

I don't think there is a way to do that.. How can govt give out reservation to only a part of low caste? .. If these reservations are taken away, these ppl will suffer more... News about suffering of sc/st and other low caste ppl is brutal.. If these ppl get a chance to live a normal life bcoz of these reservation then I don't care about privileged lower caste getting more privileged..

I do agree if both parents are already in a higher up position in govt jobs then the kid shouldnt be given reservation...

Atleast in kerala sc/st category kids are mostly farmers/fisherman kids or aadhivaasis.. Their living conditions are diffrent from us.. N I don't mind the reservations at all..
