For a moment, let's look at things from her point of view - she was questioned by the love of her life whether she was having an extramarital affair with her boss. Later, she goes through an accident only to come back to her funeral and her husband still not willing to listen (at least, from her POV). After going through this traumatic experience, she decides to go away so that her child's paternity is not questioned. Sure, this is a foolish step but it's not really anything mean/vengeful as the Goenkas frame it to be.

Also, about Kartik, sure he has missed the first five years of his child's life, but he didn't even know that he was missing out. So, that makes it way less painful for him as compared to Naira who has been through hell being away from her entire family, being a single mom and still managing to raise her kid just fine, all the while knowing that her husband, who she loved so much, would think so lowly of her that he wouldn't even forgive a dead person.

I understand where you are coming from but do you really think that just because he didn’t know about his son’s existence, his pain is less than Naira’s? That’s incredulous imo. If anything, at least Naira had that time with their son unlike Kartik who didn’t even get to hold his baby, watch him grow, experience his first words, first time he walked, etc. Despite that, even now, all he wants is for his son to stay in the same city so that he can visit him whenever he wants to.
Also, being a single mom is tough and I get that, however, Naira chose that path for herself when she decided to run away from everyone, not just Kartik. No matter how much I try to rationalise her decision, I can’t. I am sorry if I don’t sympathise with her for being completely by herself, working tough hours while bringing up the baby, etc, because it was her decision. I am not saying she should have gone back to Kartik. He didn’t deserve her forgiveness but choosing to hide from her only family, is entirely on her. I am sure Singhania’s would have supported her if she had gone to them instead of pretending to be dead.

Nah, I think both of them went through enough pain - it's just the lack of sympathy for Naira and the constant blame that she has to deal with that gets to me. True, she chose this path but there were certain very painful circumstances that led to this choice and I wish people would acknowledge that and cut her some slack.

Regarding Naira's meddling in Kartik-Vedika's marital life, I think she's just a human being - it's very easy to be all logical and say that she shouldn't be meddling but at the end of the day, she is being painted as the other woman and I think no woman wants to go through that. And under the circumstance, what she did might not be logical but definitely understandable. Also, let's keep in mind that since Kairav's birth, Naira has been the one taking all the decisions related to him, so it might not be that easy for her to suddenly start taking into consideration others' (even Kartik's) opinions when taking decisions. Again, what she did wasn't right (as Manish/Kartik rightly pointed out and she later accepted) but I feel that this is an understandable mistake, one for which the punishment needn't be so harsh as to have her child taken away.

We can always agree to disagree here. If you can justify Naira interfering in Kartik’s life while making it clear to him that when she walked out 5 years ago, she had broken all ties with him, as her being human, than the same applies to Kartik as well. And I get that Naira has taken decisions for Kairav all these years but what bothers me is that she hasn’t even tried to include Kartik ever since the truth was revealed. She still feels she has full rights over Kairav which is wrong imo.
As for the highlighted part, she is not being punished for anything because Kartik has made it
clear he won’t separate Kairav from her. He wants his legal rights and I don’t see how that is wrong. Don’t you think it’s a bit selfish of Naira to assume that Kartik should have no rights over Kairav whatsoever? He should just go along with whatever she decides because she’s the mother?
Asking for legal rights is him ensuring his future with his kid. What did Naira expect would happen after she told Kartik she was moving to Goa? He would happily allow for it to happen without challenging her decision?

Yup, agreed - Naira was wrong and I think she accepted that too. What I don't get is how Kartik still is so quick to jump to conclusions and take extreme actions. He could have at least listened to what she had to say instead of going directly to the Court and filing for custody, but I guess that wouldn't have made for good drama. 🤣

Now, coming to Kartik - I find my sympathies for him being stretched him. First of all, he needs to accept that he married Vedika out of his own will - no one forced him to. Sure, there was a component of emotional blackmail but the ultimate decision was his. Now, when his first wife has got back and he is unable to not be in love with her again (with all the dreams and moony eyes), he needs to do right by both - make a choice and let the other one go. For a person who had spent the majority of his adult life being angry with his father for remarrying, he sure as hell isn't being a model human being himself - having two wives, then forgetting that he has responsibilities, and just conveniently choosing to take the easy way out. Yes, I understand that he missed his child and Kairav is the first thing on his mind, but he also needs to look beyond himself and see how his actions are affecting others. He needs to move beyond his self-absorption pronto. And this custody thing is even worse. He says he doesn't want to separate Naira from her child, but that's exactly what he is doing - by filing for solo custody (and not joint) and trying to take away all her rights from her. If what Naira did was so wrong, then how is Kartik not wrong now by wanting to have solo decision-making power?

Agree with most of what you said here regarding Kartik taking a decision about his marriage with Vedika. I am waiting for that to happen but beg to differ on the custody part because I don’t see it as him trying to separate Kairav and Naira. He’s fighting for his rights and I am alright with that. Only thing he’s gonna control by having the custody is Naira not moving to another city with Kairav. I don’t blame his for his lack of trust in Naira regarding Kairav. As i said in my previous comment, despite him opening up to Naira and now threatening her with a legal battle, she’s still adamant to move to Goa, so how can anyone trust her to stay put in the future?

Naira isn't some unpredictable/unstable person - there's a reason she was adamant to move to Goa (Vedika's suicide attempt). If only Kartik handled his marital life better, this scenario wouldn't have come about. I wish both Kartik and Naira would just talk to each other like rational human beings instead of being so focused on retaliating. I mean how many times have these people done the same thing - when will they grow up?

I feel like, compared to Naira, Kartik had it way easier - he had the luxury of moping around when he was sad, he had a rock solid family supporting him, he even had his in-laws support, plus he got a brand new wife - all of which Naira never had for the last five years. The worst part is no one even acknowledges her struggles and just conveniently blames her as and when applicable. Sure, she made her mistakes but so did everyone else. Why is it that only she is always the one being reminded of her mistakes and being constantly punished while others get to roam around scot-free? The point of having a family is that they are understanding towards you, and in that regard, the Singhanias, Goenkas, and even Kartik have failed her! I so wish the sherni Naira comes back and/or even some of the old cast (here's looking at you, Rajshri Nani)!

I don’t see how thinking his wife died makes life easier for Kartik. Naira endured hardships, which again, was due to her poor decision making, but at least she knew Kartik was alive and okay. She even used to call the family members from time to time and got to hear their voices, Kartik didn’t have that liberty. I am sorry but I don’t think that because you are surrounded by your loved ones, your suffering gets any less and that is what was shown in Kartik’s case during the first month of the leap. We can argue that Naira had Kairav, a part of Kartik, a symbol of their relationship, but Kartik didn’t even have that. I guess it’s better to not compare their sufferings because pain can’t be quantified.

@bold-red: Agreed.

Neither has it easier than the other, but as the original post suggested, Kartik just comes across as more human which is why it’s easier for me to sympathise with him more compared to Naira.

The opposite is true for me. 🤣For someone who is as outspoken as Kartik, I don't get why he is not speaking up and/or deciding about Vedika, and that part makes it hard for me to sympathize with him. Either stay true to your marriage or your love - you can't have it both ways.

I am not completely against her but ngl, I haven’t supported her or sympathised with her post-leap except for the 2 weeks when she got slapped by BM and was then treated like a nobody in GV. Last week I was completely alright with Naira’s decision of moving to SS, this week I can’t understand her at all.

Tbh, it’s been 5 months and most of us have been going back and forth with the who’s right and who’s wrong argument. Everyone has their opinions and when we watch the episodes, we are a bit biased towards one of the characters and tend to watch the track from their POV. I am Just tired of having this discussion and can’t wait for the track to wrap up, so that we can move on from this discussion.
I desperately want the happy and loving Kaira back. Right now I see kairav’s parents but not Kaira who craved for each other. The wait is killing me.

Haha, very true. I can't wait for Kaira to get back.

Also, just to end this, I have nothing against Naira. I like Kaira equally, prefer one over the other depending on the storyline. Let’s see maybe next week I will be on Team Naira because I heard there’s a performance of Kartik and Vedika coming up smiley37. Also we never know what’s gonna happen in the custody hearings. If Kartik allows for Naira to be humiliated, I will be the first one to call him out.

Anyway, long rant over! I do love both Naira and Kartik and I hope the makers work on both their character arcs instead of brushing all these issues under the carpet and rushing them into a marriage again! :)

sorry what you said about Naira is some points okay but she really care for her child. for him only she wants to go out of the city. already one time kairav asked about kaira marriage. i think you know how difficult for kaira to divert his mind. now vedika is not ready to leave karthik for any reason. even for naira its difficult to take such decision to separate father and his son. how long she could hide vedika and karthik marriage from kairav. if it come out what will kairav think about his father. that is why Naira want to leave the city. if even kaira hide this truth from kairav , vannash or vedika will definitely open to him. which will affect him badly. Naira is not that much mahan to sacrifice her rights for some other women. she definitely think about kairav and karthik at first place while taking decision.

Exactly!!! I don't understand why Kartik doesn't want to even think about his messed up marriage to Vedika . Not once did he think how will Kairav handle his marriage truth. If Kartik is so intelligent why isn't he thinking about fixing this Vedika problem while it's been cleared that his marriage to her is not valid. So what he gets Kairavs custody and then what ignore Vedika for the rest of his life won't Kairav ever find out about Vedika? lnstead of screaming and shouting at Naira how about he think about what he really wants. Does he want to stay married to Vedika if yes then fine but if not then clear it up instead of encouraging her further and end it while the marriage is still not valid. Vedika out of the picture everything will fall in place. Kairav will be spared from this pain of knowing his father married to someone else and Naira won't feel like the other woman and no reason for her to take Kairav away. Today also the despo chipkali was trying to get a little too cosy with him but no he avoided her instead of clearly telling her that their marriage isnt valid so she should stay away and he adressed Naira as his ex wife while the lawyer reffered to Naira as his wife. He seems to have accepted Vedika as his wife even though he ignores her then why not just sort this out instead of dragging this to court and putting his child through this dirty mess.
