War Takes Bumper Opening

War took a bumper opening of around 70% across the country which is the biggest initial of the year for a Hindi film. The biggest is Avengers - Endgame which basically recorded crazy occupancy all over. War is extraordinary across multiplexes and single screens as in mass circuits the film started with huge crowds at single screens which has not been witnessed by any other film so far this year. Saaho (hindi) is the next best opening in single screens and Bharat is third for this year.

The initial of the film is at a 50 crore nett plus level but the question is will have enough screenings in the big multiplexes after 4 pm to get there as that is when these big multiplexes record 90-100% occupancy and you need the most screenings as possible. The film had already collected around 23 crore nett for the first day before even a show had commenced. This figure is more than what most films have collected on the day and War went over the 20 crore nett mark in advance alone.

The 50 crore nett plus total may come or it could be a little short but either way its a huge start and then the real battle starts to see at which levels the film comes down to Thursday and then goes on from there. The top openings of the year as follows.

1. Avengers - Endgame - 77.5%

2. War - 70%

3. Bharat - 60%

4. Mission Mangal - 52.5%

5. Saaho - 50%

6. Kabir Singh - 42.5%

7. Captain Marvel - 37.5%

8. Fast & Furious: Hobbs & Shaw - 35%

9. Spiderman - Far From Home - 35%

10. Gully Boy - 32.5%
