Ha ha .. 5 mins I to puja and suddenly we are reminded of back pain and itch in some weird places making us squirm .. 🤣

Gujju weddings also have a ritual similar to Jaago.

Ladies (relatives and neighbors) get together at night before 3-4 days of Marriage and sing songs. Then we also have Garba similar to Sangeet. Haldi is applied on the morning of the Marriage before Dulha - dulhan starts getting ready. And it's mostly done at their respective houses. Mahendi never was a function. It used to happen during day time while other preparations are going on. Nowadays coz of TV serials, I see Mahendi ceremony becoming a huge function of sorts.

Me a gujju and my family went all 9 yards during wedding .. my husband's family which is begali, nearly fainted with so many functions .. Kirtan, uptan/haldi, sangeet/mehndi, baraat, w3dding .. and since we didn't have enough .. we had 2 receptions .. and another Bengali function in between ..

By the time I finished I swore off marriage for the rest of my lives..
