Because he is staying true to his character of being a selfish, ruthless businessman. This is the same guy who took advantage of a helpless, pregnant woman who was about to get married to another guy. Did he show any mercy then? No!Why are we expecting him to behave like a saint now?

i think he panicked...bahot se log dar ke bhaag jate hain...he should have helped anurag and take him to the hospital...but pehle bhi jab bajaj aur prerna ki shaadi ke time pe anurag ka accident hua tha...prerna phir bhi help karne ayi thi but bajaj nhi nikla tha help karne... itna hype kar rakha hai bajaj ke character ko with those heavy dialogues...but aise situations mein piche reh jata hai bajaj..
