Chandrayaan took thermal images of Vikram means its still emitting heat. If it was a crash landing and vikram disintegrated then there would not have been heat emissions from it. So there is a hope that it is atleast intact. Maybe toppled to the sides which may have caused obstruction in the deployment of solar panels hence cutting off communications
Not to be a spoilsport but I think there's confusion whether it's a thermal or optical image. Atleast that's what International space community is debating right now. Did ISRO confirm thermal images specifically?
