I might be wrong but i read somewhere.. Lander was fully automated... so even when communications were cut it would have completed its task.

Enlighten me on this. If it had crash landed, would they be hopeful for a communication? Since the impact would be severe?
To calculate impact we have to
1) get the velocity of lander when the communication was lost
2) keep in mind gravity is way lower on the moon than earth
3)the distance to be travelled from the point where it broke communication.... to the destination
Now we can guess... but then again:
1) it was automated. We dont know if its still functioning and only signalling sensor was damaged.
what a bollywood ending that would be. I hope that's what happened. N we get communication back on soonOriginally posted by: Billi_Bangalan

BUT: just now read the most optimistic case was that it was only communication failure however the graph on the screens of the control showed that the actual deceleration begin to diverge after 13 minutes from the descent so the speed might have led to a crash as well.
Someone tell me the communication is established and no injuries to Vikram ... I wasnt this nervous even during NEET results 😛

Akshay would be over the moon. Itna acha movie ka climax. 😆
honestly I don't know much. ISRO hasn't said anything about reason of signal getting lost. Everyone is speculating. Some said they miscalculated the gravity of south pole lower than it'd be during the descent, some saying increase in mass, some saying velocity.BUT: just now read the most optimistic case was that it was only communication failure however the graph on the screens of the control showed that the actual deceleration begin to diverge after 13 minutes from the descent so the speed might have led to a crash as well.
Now the rover was pretty small,so might avoid crash. Also it was automated. IDK let's hope for the best. We still landed on south pole of moon as the first country. Aur orbitter to successful ho hi guys h
Yeah there were significant deviations in the graph.. lets hope for best. Ummeed pe duniya kayam he.
