“I always wanted to work with Sandeep Sicand sir. Hence, when Kahaan Hum Kahaan Tum was offered to me, I immediately said yes.”
“This show is fresh in terms of writing, dealing with several realistic layers, sans the heavy-duty melodrama.”
“The best part is that, unlike most triangles, my character is not negative. Raima is Rohit’s (Karan V Grover) ex-love.”
“Regular watchers of the show will remember that Rohit was always plagued by one medical mishap that was never disclosed till now.”
“So the character is not a new entry. She was always in Rohit’s head and heart. It’s just that she is making her comatose appearance now.”
“As Raima is shown as a Mumbai girl, I can dress modern and can also speak in English. You can’t use the Queen’s language in most Gec shows.”
Here Farnaz says that the vibes on the set are very positive. “Everybody is so welcoming. In fact, they were waiting to get to know me better.”
Farnaz has no problem playing a parallel lead. “For me, billing is not important but what I do counts more. If you take a look at my career, I was not the title face in Ek Veer Ki Ardaas…Veera, yet got so much love and importance. When I replaced Neha Saxena as the lead face in &TV’s Siddhi Vinayak, naysayers again warned me not to step into someone else’s shoes. Yet, when it clicked, I was hailed.” She also played the lead in Waris (again &TV), post the generation leap.
“One more reason for taking up this character is that it does not block my entire month, leaving me time for other stuff as well.”
Besides TV, Farnaz will also be part of a web film that she shot for in the months following the ending of Siddhi Vinayak in Jan 2019.”
“It is a different character from what TV offers.”
Have you gone dare-bare there? “Not all web shows are full of sex and abuse. Some like Sacred Games have such elements, but they are required by the script.”
“There is no hard and fast rule for doing explicit stuff on screen. It all boils down to the personal choice of the concerned actor.”
“Some gals are happy only in a sari while other are cool in shorts. Few don’t mind a bikini as well. I am not part of the third group,” ended she.
