Sept 4th: Balcony adventures

I haven't really had the chance to talk about Micky-Mini so far but I suppose today is a good episode to explore that.

When I first saw that this guy's name was MICKY, I couldn't stop rolling my eyes at the triteness of pairing a Mini with a MickyšŸ˜†.....I rolled my eyes even more and made the same face as Mini when I found out his name was MAKKHAN🤣......but man, has this character grown on me.

When he first started out, he seemed like a cliched teenage chichhora type character thrown in to show token teenage romance with Mini but boy has he grown so much beyond that. I honestly love that this show doesn't make me feel like forwarding the scenes of supporting characters.....H-B-M are my favs but I enjoy Mini's scenes with her friends, with Micky just as much.....I can't even remember the last time a show managed to successfully make me want to watch all scenes in an epi.

So today's epi explored another chapter in Micky-Mini's shifting equation.....what began once as him being a lattu flirt over her, then being rebuffed, then becoming her friend, then a very good friend.....has now reached the point where he understands her without her saying anything. I must take a moment to applaud this show again for exploring teenage equations without stock gimmicks.....the friendship between Mini and Micky has evolved so organically and it's been really sweet to watch. These teenagers don't just exist to be filler scenes between HM scenes or HB scenes or BM scenes......they exist as interaction points with the story as a whole.

On one hand, as HB's equation has developed, so has that of Micky and Mini....the parallels are eerie.....just like Hanuman's every thought is centered around bringing a smile on Babita's face, so are Micky's for Mini.....I don't think Mini even realizes when she became used to him parking himself under her balcony and showing up every other day simply to check on her mood, wanting to ease her stress.

Today he did the same....insisting she climb down the balcony to come meet him....using the chocolate as an excuse to cheer her up, get her to talk.....he's managed to make a place in Mini's heart without her consciously realizing it....ofcourse this will lead to eventual conflicts with Preet.....so Mini deffo has her own romantic syaape to deal with coming up soon I'm sure.....lol

I also loved that Micky-Mini can joke about stuff like what would H and B do at night together šŸ˜†....that entire conversation and Micky accusing Mini of having a one track mind was hilarious🤣.....what other show will we get where teenagers can talk candidly about this stuff rather than making it a comedy gimmick.....I found it adorable.....Mini has so many dreams for her mother which ofcourse center around candyfloss stuff like candlelight dinners but Micky inserting this angle into it managed to lighten her mood....I like that they are chill about it.....Mini ofcourse senses the undercurrents b/w H and B but she isn't that kind of awkward about it....lol

Oh I'd like to mention that the guy playing Micky has done quite a job with his character. I really enjoy his scenes with Hanuman toošŸ˜†....in some ways, he was the first person to actually manage to egg on Hanuman into confronting what he feels for Babita.

Second half ofcourse was adorable for HS and his Veer Balika ke adventures with the balcony.....haha how cutely Mini expressed her disappointment that her Hanuman uncle isn't missing her Babes like hero heroine do in the movies.....HS is all practical ki next door hi toh gayi haišŸ˜†.....but Mini managed to successfully goad him into trying to meet Babita.....it's also adorable how HS blushes each time Mini teases him about Babita.....haha

Balcony pe toh pahunch gaye father-daughter.....but daughter ki mother ne karvaya intezaar. šŸ˜†

Precap seems like this "Live in sin" angle will finally be resolved with Babita taking a stand for herself and coming back to the house on her own terms.

Every episode I watch, I just feel heartened ki aaj bhi itne saare moments mile to warm the heart....who even takes time to build up moments and scenes like this these days? Extended conversations between the characters, even the light hearted scenes nicely built up.....I'm loving the drawn out aspect.

omgggg, tu kaha thi itne din?????

I swear, tumhare aksharo mein jadu hain. šŸ¤—

You have a way of bringing out the positive in everything. Even the scenes that I initially didn't like have now become adorable.

Noticed the MiMi and Hanita parallels. Will be interesting to see how Mickey, Minnie and Preet handle it.

Precap: you mentioning this being Babita choosing to live in the haveli on her own terms clicked something for me and I like it A LOT. Initially, Babita didn't have a choice other than to live with HS since no one else would offer them a home. And then Babita began looking for a different place but then the proposal came along and it was an obvious thing to assume that she'll be living there. Now of course the rituals came along to pull her away, but with Babita going back to her home by choice, takes on a different context. It's like, she's not living with him out of compulsion or because it's expected of her. Rather, she is there BY CHOICE, she WANTS to be there WITH him. Agar himaat hai juda karne ki toh karke dekhao!

@bold: LOL you'd be surprised at how many people would tell you otherwise šŸ˜†....I don't have a general image for positivity.....maybe this show brings that out in me.....lol

Re: Babita....you make a great point....Babita initially didn't come to the haveli of her own free will....it was a majboori, a compulsion when they ran out of options....so her choosing to return now of her own free will, on her own terms, wanting to be close to him regardless of what people would presume and think..... would be a significant loop closure.

Most shows would have used her official grah pravesh into the house after the wedding as some kind of symbol of sanctifying her re-entry into the house......but here, if Babita actually returns to the house before the wedding and chooses to have the wedding on her terms, it would be remarkably refreshing to witness.

All her life, she's spent following what she was told is "apt" and "correct".....and it's suffocated her.....choosing to go back to the house now would be her setting the terms for her life as she sees fit....not by what people around her dictate to her.

Let's see what we get tomorrow.....I suspect it's going to be another emotional high point with good dialogues and conversations.

Agree with you Gur. Babes coming back to the haveli before the wedding on her own will get the closure on the whole ā€œlive-inā€ concept. Jyada kuch drama na karke, they are giving the message, ā€œlive-inā€ is not a sin šŸ™Œ

Superb post yaar...

U know I dint watch Mimi scene yesterday donno why may be I was eagerly waiting for hanita scene so. I was desperate.... I will watch again the way u have written the scene is very beautiful will watch mimi scene....

Father daughter are always adorable.... Loved hs ka blushing yaar... Koi itna cute kaise ho sakta hai... And he saying about patiala electricity and all was also cute... He is not that kind of person who thinks candle light dinner will be mode to. Romance... He is a person who believes if he and Babita have their own moments that's what is called romance like pottery scene... They had their own moment there... And I hope. They get such meet soon...

Precap what to say yaar... Yesterday I was dancing over the precap more than the episode... Babita is doing everything which she wants and now she is again going back to her home where her daughter and daughter's father are there and that too on her own terms...I Am. Damn sure there more than what we have seen in precap... I feel lovely would have told something bad about their relationship or about hanuman, which made her to raise her voice on even beeji...

I just hope ki babita ghar jake baap beti pe na Chad jaye.... šŸ˜‰šŸ˜†

I am excited for today...

LOLL, considering this is our first interaction, so far you have a good rep. šŸ˜†

I was okay with the grah pravesh happening and it had made sense in a way too. But ever since the precap, I want this more. If you look at it, the haveli is Babita's true home. She left her maayka at the age of 18, that too under societal pressure. I doubt she had wanted to get married that young. The Khurana Mansion, while there were good memories, she was predominantly made to feel like she was a stranger who had to be grateful for whatever she's being offered. But it's the Haveli where she has been allowed the freedom to be Babita. She doesn't have to be confined to a singular role. Instead, she can be a Babita who is multi-faceted. She's allowed to have her good days and bad without having to fear she will be judged and abandoned in return.

Not to mention, it was the Haveli who saw her at her absolute lowest after Ashok made his nasty comment. But on the same hand, the Haveli also saw her at her strongest when she chose to fight back and then later saw her rebirth when she sent Ashok away forever. The Haveli has stood witness to a lot of transformations in Babita and it will continue to do so. To me, Imarti's Haveli is Babit's forever home.

Loll, I wouldn't be surprised if she brings up wanting to go back. šŸ˜†

She might see the err of her ways, have a heart to heart with Babes and actually be a nice nanad for once. But that might be my wishful thinking. šŸ˜†
