New Delhi: The Hindi serial 'Is Pyar Ko Kya Naam Doon' is a favorite serial to be seen in Turkey during prime time and there has been no drop in its approval ratings for the last four years. In fact, the Turkish audience is pleased with the twist and turn of its love story. The show is dubbed in Turkish and is titled 'Bir Garip Ask', which airs on Channel Canal 17. According to the channel's sub-manager Yasim, the show is quite pleasing to the Turkish audience.
Yasim told IANS that not only 'Ish Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon', but other serials like 'Once again', 'Utran', 'Balika Vadhu', 'Saraswatichandra' are also very popular. Yasim is part of a large team of Turkish media persons.
Surprisingly, Hindi serials are more popular in Turkish than Bollywood films. Aamir Khan starrer 'Dangal', Salman Khan's 'Bajrangi Bhaijaan', Shah Rukh Khan's 'Chennai Express' and even Hrithik Roshan-Aishwarya starrer 'Jodhaa Akbar' are popular films.
Other shows aired on Canal 17 include 'Thapki Pyar Ki', 'Saath Nibhana Saathiya'. 'Is Pyar Ko Kya Naam Doon' was first aired in November 2015. It was then categorized as non-prime time, but due to its eagerness and TRP, it started airing in the prime time category in March 2016 from 9 pm.
Yasim told IANS, "There has been no drop in the approval ratings of this serial for the last four years." Once people stop watching a serial, the channel excludes it from its broadcast list.
