The first thing is that Atul dies. Now, I was REALLY surprised by this one. It was completely out of the blue. Everyone was talking about how they all wanted to find Atul and save Atul, and at the end, he ends up dying!
If that was the end game of this track, then I feel like the CVS handled this track SO poorly. I am COMPLETELY dissatisfied with how everything was handled. I UNDERSTAND that this was supposed to be Atul's redemption track, and I don't mind all that much that he died. BUT why like this? For all of August, he hardly had any scenes. We just got TWO, ONLY TWO scenes where he shows how much he regrets his past actions. Why did the CVS not spend more time on his regret? He was a fugitive for all of August! He didn't interact with Malhar, Kalyani, or anyone for that matter! And Malhar thought he was a terrorist for the better part of a month!
Kethki - the worst character ever conceived. I was really trying to keep an open mind with her. But what purpose did she have to anything? She was a friend that ended up betraying Malhar. For that one betrayal, the CVS spent SO MUCH time on her at the expense of ALL the other characters. WHY? Her track could have easily been wrapped up after the August 15th track. Malhar would have still felt the sting of betrayal! So why drag it on for another two weeks! They could have used that time to flush out Atul's character BEFORE Vaaman killed him.
There are so many little things that just annoyed me about this ending. Like in yesterday's episode, why did Malhar not reach for the gun to shoot Vaaman, why did it have to be Atul? Or something even smaller, like when Anupriya said to Malhar that Kalyani won't come back to your side without you personally come and take her, why was there no resolution shown for that? And now with this 15-day leap, we didn't even see how Malhar comforted Kalyani through her father's death! No KalMa relationship progress.
When Appa died, we got a month of grieving, but when ATUL, the main character who started all the events in this show dies, we don't get anything! We just move on to the next mystery track with Bapji and his shady family.
Why can't the CVS spend more time on emotions and show light tracks with relationship progress, why do they always go for these convoluted mystery tracks?! TBH, I have not been interested in the story of this show since August, and I am not interested in this new Bapji track either. Bapji is apparently Malhar's father, but knowing the CVS, there will be something shady there, too.
