Oh lovely gifs, Fary :) Seems like a very emotional scene....
Re: Patiala Babes.....lol I have SO much to say.....but I'm still catching up on the epis.
So many characters and scenes are worth writing essays on.....I haven't seen a show on ITV managing to execute so many shades so well in a while now......there's the usual shades and storylines of angst, emotions, typical situations.....and then there's this show which has managed to successfully weave the lives of it's characters together in such a convincing manner so that one scene leads to another convincingly.....not in a contrived setup manner that is stock for ITV now.
Most shows these days do token feminist characters and viewpoints for one off scenes like they're checking something off a list to cater to sponsors and so called "woke" social media clicks.....and then there is this show that has properly explored empowerment and feminism in such a wholesome picture....from the POV of a whole host of characters.
Heck, even the "other woman" character was so brilliantly portrayed that you feel for WOMANKIND overall.....and not in a BECHARI fashion....how many shows even manage to do that these days?
And I haven't even begun to talk about the character of Hanuman Singh....the story genuinely picks up from the point he's introduced into the story and the world of characters that comes in with him.....Naeem Bi especially. All of the characters have such solid conversations.....the dialogues are THOUGHTFULLY written out and so compelling that they pull you into a scene.
All shows these days are so hung up on doing the token love story gimmicks.....somehow this show has managed to rise above it all and craft such a beautiful, slowly built up evolved story of relationships.....it isn't just a token love story and everything built around it.....every single relationship is so subtly and sweetly evolved....it's taken nearly 200 episodes for the love story to even slowly get to the point it has.....because it's been built through simple, subtle interactions.....kuch OTT dikhava nahin....it's a throwback to old world simpler tropes that are non-existent on TV now.....I'm still amazed ki kisi ne aisi story ko exist karne diya TV pe in today's times where only trash sells.....
NBT tried to do the story of a single mother but because the kids were younger and the ML was this brusque, careless kind of character, somewhere the show lost sight of what could be built in terms of a new family unit forming and devolved in the course of doing the angsty love story......but PB has managed to go where NBT didn't....because Mini is 17 and much older than Nanhi and interacts with her mom differently...even though her Daadimaa bossy ways remain the same....lol....the way Hanuman-Mini-Babita's world is being built together is just so emotionally satisfying and feel good.....they come at it as three EQUALS despite the age differences.....the back and forth, the conversations, the support....they are evolving all of them as individuals as well as their relationships with each other and with every little character in the show.
Sab kuch hai show mein....we have the bromance with Hanuman and his constable Lalit Mohan....LOL....we have the evolving father-daughter like dynamic of Hanuman and his Veer Balika Mini....we have the ever so slowly and subtly building love between Hanuman and "Daughter ki Mother" Babita....lol....so many phrases in the show have taken hold.....fabulous writing....and the actors have delivered them so well.
I should stop now.....lol I can keep yapping otherwise.
