To be honest, I didn't like the first episode at all. Outdoor shoots tend to give the actors a very different voice and it was bugging me a lot :P but what I liked in the first episode, the most was the little banter Mishti and Kuhu had. That stupid first bencher last bencher joke, how Kuhu could tell, without thinking twice, exactly how Mishti would behave, tying her lace, their conflicting viewpoints about the runaway Ketki and everything. It just was so lovely. When Kuhu got upset with Mishti's performance, it was pretty justified. Kuhu loves the arts and Mishti just changing the entire performance was bound to blow off anybody. (You have to agree though, it takes a lot of guts to perform something without practice. Props to Mish for that 😆) So yes, you could see a very justified reason for Kuhu's anger then. So I began liking her, even though I was also simultaneously watching the current episodes where Kuhu has become a little, different, per se.
I chanced upon the show randomly browsing the channels one day. It was the episode in which Varsha learns that Kuhu loves Kunal. At that time I didn't know how important a character Kuhu is to the story.
We do share a somewhat similar opinion about the first episode :) I had instantly felt a connect to the banter of the two sisters. I also loved how Kaveri had this spontenity about her acting.
Wouldn't have thought that Kuhu's crush on Kunal from that day would take such a horrible turn and it would literally become a life altering moment for her.
I know right! I was definitely not expecting that from her. Even her little blow out when Mishti visited the park to comfort her made me sure she wouldn't be okay with Mishti and Kunal's rishta but her answer surprised me a lot! That's when I decided, I was rooting for her. I still am.
The sweetest part related to that incident? Kuhu actually felt guilty that she had gone overboard in expressing her anger towards Mishti by saying something nasty about her parents and wanted to make it up to her sister by baking a cake for her (even though she didn't know how to bake a cake 😆)
Look at the subtle and telling contrast that when publically Mishti called Kuhu illegitimate and thus raised questions over her parentage, Kuhu didn't so much as say a word to Mishti about it. I mean there were a 100 times when Kuhu was insensitive towards Mishti, this was one time when Kuhu had a legit reason to be insensitive towards her sister but she didn't even bring up the topic. Can we happily assume that deep down Kuhu knows Mishti would not have done something like this, that Mishti would have never spoken about her like that.
I know! Like I said in your post the other day, she became so glossy-eyed over the fact that Kunal hated Mishti, that he was the one person Mishti could never possibly have equal rights and that him disliking Mishti would make sure he was only Kuhu's to have probably made him much more appealing beyond the sports car he owns. (I wonder where that car is. Sort of upset about how Kuhu didn't even once get to ride it 😆)
I remember during the time when Kuhu and Kunal's rishta was getting fixed, I read a comment on Twitter saying that Kuhu probably only 'loves' Kunal because he is rich. Would be safe to say that Kuhu in that sense has grown up. As a wife she would be seeking Kunal's love, respect and companionship.
I keep getting back to that scene with Shweta. That daimond bracelet was Kuhu's prized possession, yet she had given it to Shweta in an instant saying that it doesn't matter for her, what only matters for her is Kunal. I know making tall claims is one thing and fulfilling those is another but that scene I believe was shown to highlight that Kuhu would love Kunal regardless of his financial status.
Anyhoo, I loved that scene because it showed how self-assured and badass Kuhu could be when she wants to be. That telling glare she gives Kunal after saying "Main tumhara intezaar kar rahi hoon" was lit and held so much meaning .
Kunal needs to stop his blame game. Dude, exactly when are you going to realise that you are about 90% of the reason why you are in this entire mess. Plus, he is only thinking abiut himself and his hate for Mishti. I don't want to see Mishti's face. So I will literally burn down somebody else's world if it helps. He seemed to care about Kuhu's feelings when he was reluctant about the plan but the stupid idiot took Maa ki kasam that he didn't love Kuhu so obviously he must have pushed the idea out of his brain, since Maa ki kasam had him perform all the rituals with such a beautiful smile🙄
If I can be honest I never found Kunal's "I am feeling bad for what am doing" convincing. I just didn't find him being earnest whenever he said so except for the hotel room scene after he runs away.
They can't possibly forget whatever has transpired but it could be the basis of newfound trust. Once he realises he is the only one he can blame, he needs to come to terms with the fact that playing with Kuhu's feelings made him so much more worse than the master manipulator he thinks Mishti is. Kuhu should be given her own time to trust him again, I want that. For him to go far and beyond and earn her trust but with small gestures since our CVs are so good with those
First things first he deserves to be rejected by Kuhu. Then he can sit and willow in self-pity about how he got rejected by the one girl who had accepted him. #sorrynotsorry
I do not want anything as badly from the story right now as I want Kuhu to show the mirror to Kunal and give it to back to him nicely for all the bs that he has thrown at her.
I wish she realizes that it is not wrong to expect love from your husband but you shouldn't do it at the expense of your self-respect.
It never came to the fore on-screen like that but the fighter spirit Kuhu was shown to have made me believe that in a badass mode she can give a real hard time to both Meenakshi and Kunal. With Mishti it's like she has a certain set of morals and even in a fight she wouldn't want to cross certain lines, I don't think that is the case with Kuhu. Which why I feel even more than Mishti, Meenakshi should be wary of her "choti bahu"
I agree with this too. Though I get why Kuhu reacted that way (I expected nothing else), she should have just smiled sadly instead of using words. Maybe, (since I am hell bent on understand her every action), she did that to prove to Meenakshi that she is the perfect person for Kunal. It's not like Kuhu has just forgotten the rejection and Meenakshi's claim that Kuhu isn't the perfect for Kunal. Kunal has also told her that his mom hates Mishti and wouldn't let their marriage happen if she comes to know about Abir and Mishti. Since Kuhu is so easily influenced and she knows Kunal loves his mother, she is trying to make her place. I am not saying it's correct but don't we all tend to act out weirdly if we want someone to like us? Maybe it's just become a basic reaction for her, she is just settling herself to do that, hate on her sister even though a part of her loves Mishti? (My Mishti-Kuhu heart goes all triggered :P) We know Kuhu strives to look perfect in everyone's eyes.
That's actually a fair point. Kuhu's "Tu kyun aayi yahan.." wasn't actually a "just get lost from here because I can't stand your face". She did not have problem with Mishti. She was concerned about how Kunal was behaving in Mishti's presence. I know in a similar situation Mishti would have definitely prioritized her sister's presence more than how her husband is reacting but this was also a rare occasion when Kuhu was not asking Mishti to go because she wanted Mishti to go. She was asking Mishti to go because she was made to feel like Mishti should be asked to go.
That day when Kuhu actually prioritizes her sister over her hashtag hubby would be a remarkable day in the history of YRHPK.
And so, during the bidaai, she lets herself be. She loves Mishti and she cannot pretend otherwise. She lets Mishti know that everything is hers now (don't be too sad girl, your brother-in-law is going to make her your Bhabhi soon 🤣) and that she trusts Mishti to take care of everyone.
That was a very important scene I daresay. The mere gesture that Kunal was standing right there and Mishti was standing distantly and Kuhu didn't have to be pushed or urged by her family members to go and meet Mishti, made me feel so relieved. Even Abir got emosh seeing the two sisters :')
I know the fandom is pretty kicked about the fact that now that Kuhu is married that room of Kuhu and Mishti would be a great place for Abir and Mishti to secretly meet and romance, but seeing Mishti sit alone in the room in the precap actually made me feel a bit sad :(
That room belonged to Kuhu and Mishti 🤧 I remember in earlier episodes there would be random moments when Kuhu would just go and hold her sister from behind, just like how friends or sisters do out of love and affection (and here these two believed that they simply don't get along and yet they had shared such endearing moments together 🤧)
I know right! What they share is theirs. They don't believe in public spectacles. They fight and push each other down but also give each other a hand. Their bond will make me cry someday and I cannot wait for it. Like Mishti said, whatever they say, they are truly sisters and will find happiness in the other's happiness. I mean, maybe, Kuhu just begins shipping MishBir to spite her hubby dearest and Dragon/Dracula Saas 😆 Oh the pleasure that that would be.
Haha :D Kuhu actually shipping MishBir and going on to tell her sister that there is no better guy that she or any girl in the world for that matter could find would be so endearing to watch.
I know! She has so much room to grow. So much she can do. Her relationship with Mishti will be the goal and also the stepping stone for her character development, if you look at it with the complexity. My girl has so much to do! The CVs have done a great work with Mishti and Abir so far. I really do hope with get to see such a writing with Kuhu as well.
Yes writing wise there is much to be imparted to her character. Even though we can't really say they have done a bad job at it. Far from it actually.
In our tv shows MLs are given infinite opportunities to "redeem" themselves after they mistreat FLs, but a character like Kuhu is actually judged to the point that some of the people that believe she deserves the shit that is happening in her life right now. That is what really ticks me off.
I don't want Kuhu to be sympathized with. I wouldn't mind no one feeling bad for her because it is true that she brought this upon herself. But when I see people painting her as this "bad sister" who deserves this ill fate because of the way she always treated Mishti, it simply makes me feel angry.
If Kuhu deserves this then what do Meenakshi and Kunal deserve?!
Off topic if I may add, Abir is an absolute sweetheart and there is no doubting the nobility of his intentions but it's surprising that no one is talking about how he shouldn't have hidden it from Mishti that Kunal had run away from the house on the day of wedding. Especially when he had himself told Mishti that she should speak truth to him at all times, hiding something like this could pose a major problem. Nothing that Abir and Mishti can't discuss and overcome, but still...
Oh I agree! One of the reasons I love her is she is so different. So many of her actions are wrong and so many times you just understand why she did what she did. I love the way she's been written so far and she is exactly the sort of female character I love.
I love her too. And hence we should brace ourselves because it's going to be very important now how they shape her character. It can go either ways and am hoping her character would learn and evolve for the good 🤞
See, I told you guys I love rambling. 😆
Your ramblings are much appreciated my friend ;)
