That's because deep down kuhu is a very emotional, insecure and naive person. Mishti is mature and resilient. Unfortunately like you said, kuhu and her nature is such that she would in fact put up with abuse, especially because she is someone who seems to heavily seek validation of her self-worth from others, and for her somehow kunal is that person whose company gives her that validation. People who care too much about the way people view them or desiring people's attention too much are people who heavily tend to get insecure easily. It's for that reason that I feel kuhu would not have the guts in her to call out kunal on his behaviour, stand up for herself or walk out keeping her self-respect first, because she cares too much about her self-image, what other's think of her to see the bigger picture most of the times, just like how she conveniently over-looked kunal's behavior and actions and downplayed them because she is so desperate to marry him.
I guess it is through mishbir and kuku that rajan shahi is delivering the message of how it is important to get to know your partner first before committing, because with mishti she thought well and hard, didn't want to rush into agreeing to marry kunal and wanted to get to know him, due to which she found out he isn't right for her at least and found the person who is right for her, whilst on the other hand you have kuhu who can't seem to look past kunal's looks, car, and his outer charm of what appears to be the perfect man as she ignores his behaviour and actions in favour of the positive image of perfection he portrays. Don't judge a book by its cover and do not rush into marriage is something this show portrays quite well.
