Yes, I found it a little cheesy but that's what works with our society...so that's what the director is giving them...

I love your first point, but you can’t deny it’s cliche to show Taapsee playing nurse, or saying sindoor... i guess I want to say, it would have been nice, if they took a more pragmatic approach, and laid it out for what it was. Extraordinary women, who did the unthinkable.

I guess the treatment would have been stereotypical if it had been men... natural aggression, deep passion, with an understanding girlfriend/wife.... haha, I wish BW would change it’s style up.

There are counterparts for all of them.... Even Akshay Kumar, but I think they have glamourized few bits like sonakshis character to resonate with metros

I did not know someone posted same article from another website.

But then, why did you say, “they weren't incharge of any of these department that are in Mom”?Article clearly mentions, which departments, these ladies were heading.

Ritu Karidhal: Deputy Operations Director for Mangalyaan.

Nandini Harinath : Project Manager, Mission Designer & Deputy Operations Director for Mangalyaan.

Moumita Dutta: Project Manager for Mangalyaan

Minal Rohit: Project Manager and System Engineer for Mangalyaan

and Dr Seetha Somasundaram : Program Director at ISRO’s Space Science Programme

Obviously, Chandrayaan was not just because of these ladies (or only ladies), but saying women did not have any major role is another extreme.

Ehh...I don't think its cringeworthy. They weren't shown performing wife duties in the promo. Its just acknowledging the fact that they are married, and that's empowering for them, because despite that, it didn't stop them from achieving their life goal. It shows a message that women's dreams don't end after being married. People just have to cry nowadays with any mention of feminism in movies. This movie is not going to be a documentary on Mars mission. The highlight on the 5 women who made it successful means its more of a women empowerment story.

I did not even think all the woman shown in the trailer are married. Sonakshi appeared to be in a live in relationship. I think only Vidya and Tapsee were shown married. The naration shown would be quiet discriminatory if they all don't turned out to be married by the time he stars his one tone speech in the movie.

Anyways I gotto say this I wish Akshaye wasn't a part of this movie. He alone is enough to ruin this promo. So bland.

I am tired ,so cannot post more profiles, but will end this with a name,Ritu Karidhal , she is known as “RocketWoman” of India. She is also one of the major heads of Chandrayaan -II. She was very, very instrumental in MOM , so much so they pulled her out of a mission to work on MOM.

The scientists are quick to dismiss it all, ("When you are working for a mission, for your country, whatever sacrifices you make seem worth it," says Dutta), but equally so to credit their cooperative colleagues, supportive husbands, encouraging parents (who never let them believe that girls were any different than boys, and continue to pitch in) and in-laws for pitching in to help with their kids.

Nandini's mother, for instance, would move from Andhra Pradesh to Bengaluru for a month at a time during satellite launches to help with Nandini's two daughters.

In fact, her elder daughter was studying for her 12th standard exams while Nandini worked on MOM. "I'd only get home around midnight, but I'd wake up at 4am so we could study together. Luckily, we were both too busy to stress each other out!"
