SRK is a massive star not denying that but to equate him with Bollywood is stretching too far just cos u and few other NRIs worship him doesn't make him bigger then the industry he represents... In fact Bollywood made him not the other way around. Bollywood has successfully existed before him and will continue to do so. Yes he is shrewd and intelligent enough to make himself a big brand and kudos to him for that.. But he is nothing without Bollywood.

Like his stardom is revered esp because in the West he's maintained for decades something not even the Al Pacinos and Redfords were able to. Only next to him is Leo. He is the barometer of superstardom esp global superstardom if any.

He brought Bolly to them. He made Bolly famous. That was the tweet. He single-handedly made Bolly a household name outside India. To the remotest of places. People don't know Shah because of Bolly. People know Bolly because of Shah. Like I said, its a fact. And me and other NRIs 'worshipping' him won't change that. And if one travels enough they can experience his reach even today like I do.

PR doesn't get you knighthood from Malaysia, France's highest honor, Chubb Fellowship from Yale (usually reserved for Presidents and Prime Ministers) or 5 doctorates. Nor does it get it multiple hour long interviews on German television or covers of French magazines or Prime Ministers of far flung places like Trinidad throwing parties in your honor. PR can't get CEOs of Apple and Twitter and other huge companies to make sure they visit your house when they're in the country.

PR only gets you Mumbai Mirror articles and planted stories of being the next SRK. People can pretend to not acknowledge it but SRK has no equal in BW.

A few flops hardly matter. It's not like some masala crap movie making a few crores extra in Lucknow and Indore has done anything for others. People don't even remember what they saw a month later.

Shah's reach was pre PR or social media era lol. How about you not parrot 'PR PR' on everything you hate. To even deny his impact has to be something else. And his stardom has waned sure,so? Doesn't change the entire history of his life though? If there's a career there will be rise and fall. That's life. You with your PR chants can't erase the 90s Shah and his stardom.
