Samaina at Arunaji’s office waiting to discuss next scene. Sam tells, let’s write the next epi, Naina reminds him, “bhool gaye humne Taj Mahal se Dharavi ka trip kyon kiya, tumhe hero banane ke liye. Jao aur jaa kar audition do”. Sam giving audition while Naina discussing scenes with writers, but her focus is on Sameer’s audition. Lovely Bgm, yunhi kat jaayega.....
Thank goodness aaj tanAadi ka romance pe focus nahi kiya and whole epi was dedicated to Samaina. 1000 epis wala track hopefully has been given up. Khair Shubham ko sirf chocolate nazar aaya and not the chocolate lovers and Aadi buys one for Preeti too. Shubham only too happy with the economics.
Sam gives audition. Aruna ji watches it and is disappointed. Samaina at a restaurant sharing an ice cream and Naina excited and asks Sam about the audition. He says he did not get selected. 😒Phir fb mein bataya. Arunaji plays his audio recording and mamaji ke “saaf kehna, Sukhi rehna” dialogue ko twist kiya and asked Sam to be honest about whether his voice is connecting with him emotionally. Bola iss baar Saste Danny nahi, koi asli acting class join karo aur khud par kaam karo. You are good looking but we need acting talent too. and the day she sees that talent in him, she will stand with him and give him that opportunity. 👏
Sam is disheartened and is about to leave when she stops him and explains that she is speaking from experience and that opportunities don’t really knock on the door so we must seize what’s in hand and that he will make a good writer. She has seen him narrate the story along with Naina and how wonderfully he does that with twists and turns. He doesn’t need to give up on acting but while he is waiting he should write.👍🏼
I loved how Arunaji explains to him without insulting him and encourages him. He probably hasn’t realised that he is good at writing and can be a professional writer. This is because the acting dream was built on a whim. Maybe CVs intentionally kept it that way and never really showed his passion for acting or being good at it barring the school play.
Sam’s VO was also lovely here, this new destined path is not something they were aware of, sure of, so are naturally confused. Totally loving this part of the story, the unchartered territory👍🏼Naina says that she will speak to Arunaji and that they had a deal. Tum hero nahi to mein writer nahi. Sam says she thinks that I will be a good writer and has asked me to write with you. Naina upset. She says, “Maine socha tha Gauri Khan ki tarah star wife banungi aur tum hume Salim Javed banana chahte ho”.
They go home. Lagta hai CVs IF visit karte hain, aaj SS ko tuition lete hue dikhaya . SS ka tuition mausam ke hisaab se chalta hai aur aaj andar aur baahar dono ka mausam kharab hai, isliye, bachhon ko bhaga diya aur khud bhi bhaag gaya. Naina throwing utensils and Sam raising volume of remote control. Sam VO says that they still fight like this. VO akhir kaar present tense mein pahunch hi gaya. Ab Dili door nahi.😒
Sam tries to reason that they must seize the opportunity in hand. Liked the VO here that as usual they were not fighting with each other but for each other. That was lovely. Naina is upset that Sam is giving up on his dream and Sam doesn’t want Naina to loose her opportunity. Frankly felt bad for both and Naina’s reaction was also justified. She championed his dream and left everything behind in Ahmedabad to struggle in Mumbai. Him shifting his focus is unacceptable to her. She put her CA studies on hold and took up this writing job just to support his dream. Felt bad for Sam too, poor thing is only facing rejection. But for a change, he is being the practical one. Instead of chasing an unachievable dream, he is willing to be practical and give writing a shot. Here we saw the Sam we know and love, the street smart, jugadu Sameer. I know we are feeling bad for Sam but that is the beauty of YUD, in all other shows, the hero has to be successful in whatever he sets his eyes on, but here Samaina are going with the flow and destiny has written success for them albeit through another route. Reiterating the opening line of Mumbai track, “raasta aap chunte hain lekin manzil aapko chunti hai”.👏
Also let’s not forget, for Naina, Sam is the ultimate hero, so she will always look at him with rosy glasses but like the Mumbai coolie says, at least 5 good looking guys get off every train coming into Mumbai to become a hero, of which 4 return back. Sad reality of Bollywood. But here the question is not of Sam becoming a successful hero, like arunaji tells him to hone his craft, he may crack it one day, question is do they want to wait it out.
Samaina’ night scene and fighting over light, quilt etc. Rakesh trying to understand outside the door and Naina declares that they are going to Ahmedabad tomorrow. Rakesh’s reaction was hilarious and is like ok, whatever.😆
Morning mein the fight continues, sam tries to manao Naina but Naina is in Devi mode. Naina packs suitcase and Sam says he is not coming. She says ok and that she is leaving.
