Another day and another beautiful episode. Misthi I can’t even express my admiration for this character in words. Behind the angry chorni/strong girl bravado there is this timid little 11 year old girl who believes that she is the source of trouble in people’s lives. Imagine being 11 and waiting at the door day in day out for two people who are supposed to love you unconditionally. Imagine longing for a peck on you cheek from your mother, a hug to end all your worries from your father. Imagine being whisked away from you actual house to a new home with new people. Imagine adjusting into a new family trying to understand the new dynamics. Imagine getting foster parents like BM and BP who shower you with the love you always thought your parents will give you. Imagine having a cousin sister like Kuhu who always saw you as an outsider. A chachi like Jasmeet who leaves no stone unturned in reminding you of your adopted status. Imagine having an aunt like Varsha who would always keep her daugther’s needs and wishes before you. Then imagine a guy who comes in to your life like a breath of fresh air. A guy who makes you realize the beauty within yourself. Who makes you believe that you are worthy of love. Who makes you believe in love. Imagine being torn between your desires and your sister’s happiness. Mish is going through all of this.
“Main kisi problem ki wajah nahi ban na chaati” This line conveys her inner state. She genuinely doesn’t want to sabotage her sister’s happiness.
“Agar baat ko yay hi khatam top yay aap ko apni baton main uljha rahi hoti” Kunal as always is dim-witted with an emotional range of a 4 year old. He leaves no stone unturned in trying to convince Abhir that Mish is at fault.
“Nanko BAS!” Abhir however, has had enough. Loved the assertiveness in his voice and the anger in his eyes. Kunal really is pushing all the wrong buttons.
“Who mujh say baat kar rahi thi yay baat hum dono kay beech main thi. Aur who iss liay keh rahi thi kyun kay mainay uss say pucha tha. Mishti main jaanta hu tum jhoot nahi kaho gi. Yay ristha tuhari li bohot important hain.” I loved it when he basically said to Kunal that hey bro this conversation is none of your business so like stay out of it. This is between me and Mishti. Uff loved how he acknowledged that he knows Mishti isn’t lying. As usual Kunal misunderstands and goes away.
“Please iss ki baton ko seriously mat lena…..Humay dehan rakna chaiyay kay hum kia bolay” His voice becomes gentle when he addresses her. He cajoles her that don’t take Kunal seriously its what he says later that affects Mish in the wrong way. Time and time again Mish has heard Abhir claiming that he puts Kunal’s happiness above his happiness. Even here he goes on to reiterate how important the ristha is for everyone. He is not wrong here but now was not the right time to say it. Mish is in deep emotional turmoil and everything that Abhir is saying is affecting her deeply. Exactly how important is this ristha for Abhir is it even more important then her? What he says forces Mish to reflect on Kuhu didn’t want her there and she silently nods and walks away. The doubt in her mind lingers in the air as the song plays.
“Suljay huay say dhaago ko dil yay na jana uljha hain yay toh khudi
Aanko yaar than a intezaar tha na……”
It means that her heart itself is facing a dilemma so right now she will be unable to understand Abhir and the situation fully. She is so torn emotionally that she cannot seem to think straight for now. As she walks away she looks back at Abhir. Her thoughts are a jumbled mess. She stops and looks while Abhir looks away. So many things left unsaid between them. Abhir and Parul Maasi have a conversation that I wish Mish had listened to.
“Misthi ko jaisay main jaan ta hu app log nahi jaantay” He really knows her . He knows that even in her wildest dreams Mish will not hurt her family.
“Woh larki mujay buri nahi lag ti aur yay jhoot uss kay bas ki baat nahi bechari bachi nay bohot muskil samay dekha hain who aisa nahi kar sakti Abhir” Parul Maasi amazes me every day. She is not a meek pawn that hides in the shadows. She has so much depth and the way she sees people is so similar to how Abhir sees people. Lol its ironic that instead of Kunal, Abhir is more like her own son. It finally dawns on Abhir that Ben Baa might be playing games with everyone. Mish wants to leave but BM stops her she knows that someone might have said something to her. I understand Varsha’s stance but she is selfish here for her own daughter. She wants Mish to apologize for a fault she did not commit. Even BM forces her and then Kuhu literally begs her to say sorry. Haaye Kuhu if a guy has made you reach that stage that you are begging your own family member to say sorry to satisfy the guys male ego and his Maa’s arrogance then my child that guy is not worth it all. If a guy can’t control his anger in front of you reflect on how after marriage will you be able to handle that anger if its directed at you. If a guy makes you beg for love and attention then he is not the one. As one of my favorite characters once said”Pyaar paya jaata hain haasil nahi kiya jaata”. I hope Kuhu starts seeing the toxic traits Kunal possesses. She is really blind to his faults. Mish asks her if Kuhu would have been able to do the same for her. Kuhu has no answer because we all know she wouldn’t have. As she is walking out she sees Abhir at the door. Their eyes damn they speak volumes. Abhir gestures her to stop. She remembers how he asked her to be careful and how this ristha is important for Abhir. Hence, she silently comes back. It takes everything out of her to walk up to Ben Baa and ask for forgiveness. She musters up the courage to say it as she recalls that Abhir has spoken up for her at every moment. She is only doing this for him. Her voice is choking and she can’t help but stop the tears in her eyes. Uff then the best character of the show BP walks in and the way he handles the situation is top notch. The way he indirectly keeps on throwing shade at Ben Baa was so good. Mish is blessed to have him in her life. A father figure all girls need in their life.
“Suna beta maafi mangnay wali toh koi baat hi nahi thi”
Mish wants to leave but BM is trying to stop her but BP intervenes.
“Jahan par log aap say ummed rakhay kay aap apna sar jhuka kar rakhay gay wahan say sar utha kar lot jaana he bethar hota hain” These lines how mature and sorted BP is. He is right where people expect you to bow down to their wishes its better to leave with your self respect intact. Ben Baa asks BP and BM about Mish’s whereabouts. They inform her that she has left as she didn’t want to hinder her sister’s happiness.
“ Misthi bohot he zimmedar larki hain.Mish yahan apnay BM ki samja dhari lay kar ahayi thi aur apnay BP ki seekhayi hui kuddari lay kar gayi hain” BP take a bow. Haaye the way he respectfully conveys his point. He goes on to say that how he knows and understands why Kunal wanted Mish to apologize but at the end of the day his daughter got hurt. He subtly conveys how fiercely protective he is of Mish every sword that tries to cut her has to go through him. He is her protector not a father by blood but a father with all his heart and soul. I love how all plans of Ben Baa and Kunal actually have the opposite outcome. They bring AM closer all I can say is carry on we AM shippers don’t mind.
Haaye Mish breaks down in the car. The rain is pouring outside and the her psyche too is wreaking havoc inside. She doesn’t care about her makeup right now she wants the pain to leave her. Why doesn’t anyone understand that she did nothing wrong. Right on cue Abhir says:
“Angry chorni kay cheray par gussa suit karta hian aanso nahi” Haaye she was so engrossed in her emotions that she didn’t realize that the driver was Abhir. Their music plays and it heightens the scene. He tells her that anger suits her but not tears. Especially when the tears are on such an nonsensical situation.
“Tumnay maafi ku mangi ti. Agar tumhay lagta hain kay baat na karnay say baat khatam ho jayay git oh main aur meray sawwal raat bhar yahan rukh saktay hain jab tak jawaab nahi milay ga hum khahin nahin jayay gay baton maafi kyun maangi ti” Haaye the gentleness in his voices. How cutely does he tell her that Mish today you won’t be able to dodge my questions for I am willing to stay as long as it takes for you to open up. He wants her to confide in him because seeing her like this is breaking him too. Why did she feel the need to apologize when she was not at fault. This is not the fierce Mish that he knows and loves. It boggles him to see her like this. So, broken that she wants to hide her pain from her family. She rather not take away the attention away from her sister. She doesn’t want people to bother about her but here is this guy who refuses to abandon her in this rainy night. A guy who left his own brother’s function for her. She has finally found her safe-haven. She has found love that she thought was never a part of her life. How beautifully has fate and destiny have brought these two broken individuals together.
