Okay lmao let's get this clear. Super 30 with negligible promotions, Hrithik totally stepping out of his comfort zone (with neither stylish looks nor dancing) and non-popular music raked in 11cr on the first day. Manikarnika, with all the adulation related to the actual queen, with all the promotion circus, Kangu's potty mouth and decent music collected 7.66cr.

Plus let's face it - giving the credit for Manikarnika collecting even that much money to Kangu is like giving credit to Sushant Singh Rajput for the MS Dhoni biopic opening.

So are we seriously comparing Kangu's stardom to Hrithik Roshan's stardom?

His film on a “famous” teacher, made on half the budget of hers, with minimal promotion and lots of negativity from the twisted sisters made more than her film on a national icon which had loads of promotion and negative publicity only of her own making.

His film has great WOM. Her film had mixed WOM.

His film is ahead of where hers was on day 1. What makes you think that trend will reverse?

I never brought in Manikarnika but I had to do it when challenged. This is the story of Jhansi ki Rani, desh ki beti. We cannot tarnish her like this and underplay movie collections.

Are you kidding? Only and only Jhansi ki Rani earned the 90 - 94 Cr. Without her, the film would have made less than Simran.

Very happy for Hrithik, he is a brilliant actor and deserves success. i mean if untalented ones like salman can make it this big, talented ones have to soar even higher.

I still cannot fathom how sultan and varun Dhawan;s judwa 2 made so much money. Anyway respect audience's verdict but at least Hrithik who puts his heart and soul into a movie just like Kangana should get success.

I cried so much watching Guzaarish, for me that was his best work so far.

I am at least glad that people at least in this forum are now comparing the opening of a male centric movie to a female centric movie, that's exactly what Kangana had wanted . This change in Bollywood where male and female stars are treated equal and given equal respect . Otherwise people even refused to acknowledge Tapsee or Kriti's movie as their own and called it the male leads movie. That state has to change. The day when movies are compared irrespective of gender is great. Kangana at least played a role in this.
