I don't qualify in either. I am supporting Bajaj, and I love KSG too. However, in today's episode I felt a lot for AnuPre, and didn't feel like rooting for PreRish. But it's pretty cool that a lot of people have such nice different views. XD

Happens often. We think we are watching shows for actors but many subconsciously continue to watch shows for characters only. That's where writing becomes very important.
I have left many shows of my favorite actors only because I couldn't stand their characters & characterization in the show along with the plot.
I absolutely loved Parica in their last shows but I am watching KZK right now only because of Bajaj's character which I find intriguing right now.

I wouldn’t say I love KSG, but I do like KSG as an actor the most and was looking forward to him. I so want to root for him, but Bajaj is just too nasty and disgusting for me to do so. I wish he was playing a different character I could root for. So even though I like KSG a lot, I am rooting for Anupre or whoever is the innocent and right for me is. Even if I love an actor, if the character that actor plays is bad, I can’t root for them. I couldn’t root for Nandini in Silsila for the same reason even though I love dd. I don’t know how most fans do it. I am character fan first I guess. I get connected to character first.
+1
This happens with me. I start watching a show for the actor and then start rooting for the character even if it means going against my fave.
Yes I understand the example that u gave about DD. Same happened with me. I loved Asha-Rithvik in Pavitra rishta , but fell for Onir's character and shipped him though I knew it was a lost ship.
thats why i always love character more than actor

Same here. I have quit many shows where my fav few actors were in it and didn’t even finish as I couldn’t take their ruined character and crap story anymore.

Yup, like someone gave example. I liked DD & shakti, but found their characters disgusting in the show. I was watching only for Mauli though I never even knew she existed before the show.
I have also left few serials even though I liked the actors because of character butchering.
I guess we subsconsiously choose our favourite character over our favourite actor in the show.

DD in silsila, Barun in IPK3, Shaheer in Salim Anarkali, Surbhi, Anita & Rajat in Naagin, Shraddha in Kundali & this list goes on. I loved actors but I couldn't stand their characters.
On the other side, I fell in love with many actors only because of their characters- Aditi as Mauli, Erica as Sonakshi, Shaheer as Dev, Parth as Manik, Harshad as Sahir & Aditya & so on.

Everyone began watching that show for DD & Shakti & the intriguing plot. But their characters were so bad that only Mauli came out as ultimate winner & the brilliance with which Aditi portrayed her was commendable. That show made Aditi shine as an actor & Mauli as a character. Aditi wasn't even promoted as a main character but the show turned on the other two & made it her journey. That's the beauty of nicely written characters people root for in the long run.
