Brilliant choices. They have given masterpieces to the industry. Oscar worthy Directors, seriously.
1. Guru Dutt
2. V. Shantaram
3. Hrishikesh Mukherjee
4. Raj Kapoor
5. Chetan Anand
6. Rajkumar Hirani is good at present
7. Nagesh Kukunoor, used to love his films a lot
8. Zoya Akhtar
9. Karan Johar, since he does have specialization in commercial cinema. But only if he directs himself and is in his elements.

Hello Madam/Sir, Main mazak nahi kar rahi. Comedies banana koi asaan baat nahi. Bahut mehnat lagti hai. If you think I'm being sarcastic, I'm not. I respect every film director because I know ke yeh profession kitna tough hai.
Re-watching his films I am starting to develop a newfound appreciation for Vishal Bhardwaj.
Apart from that Anurag Kashyap and Shoojit Sircar.
I am interested in what Meghna Gulzaar does with Chaapak. She has gone from really shit films to finding her niche in these politically charged thrillers but I wanna see if she can pull something different.
