7. Nagesh Kukunoor, used to love his films a lot

8. Zoya Akhtar

9. Karan Johar, since he does have specialization in commercial cinema. But only if he directs himself and is in his elements.

Hello Madam/Sir, Main mazak nahi kar rahi. Comedies banana koi asaan baat nahi. Bahut mehnat lagti hai. If you think I'm being sarcastic, I'm not. I respect every film director because I know ke yeh profession kitna tough hai.

Re-watching his films I am starting to develop a newfound appreciation for Vishal Bhardwaj.

Apart from that Anurag Kashyap and Shoojit Sircar.

I am interested in what Meghna Gulzaar does with Chaapak. She has gone from really shit films to finding her niche in these politically charged thrillers but I wanna see if she can pull something different.
