Here in US, I have a construction engineer friend, who did well in land development construction business,... bought land at that time when it was dirt cheap and doing the development made so many communities and made tons of money,..and he has got so rich,.. carries so much open lands, have its private small plane, carrying at local Wilmington airport, he can even pilot it and we had once even sky-ride,...

Smtms sitting in his open far far spread, dry hay land with two ordinary lawn chairs and we sipping a can of soda,... and gazing at far site,.. it seems like ,.. the Sun rises from his backyard ! ( not from the Eats ) Whoa !

But again, this guy is always laghar-vaghar ( torn and tattered 0 haphazard dresses, never saw him neat, clean suited, footed as he is darn behind money,.. ( work work work,.. no family life,... ( He never knew when his kids grew up,... ) in construction/developer/planner/ business, His wife divorced him,.. his daughter ran away with black guys in NY downtown areas,... he is all alone, a loner, a refugee, deserted guy, sad and so sorrowful rich, I ever saw,.. spending his time with He does not wanna take any rest and his desire is,.. When I die, I must have a pen holding in my hand,... I found him, cans of hard and soft drinks,... ! A walking n eating sub with Soda is his daily meal,... Family life is all torn tattered and distorted,....

Sometimes I ask myself a Question,... is this called Richness? A definition of Rich, Royal, n' Happy? and If so,..

Wish not,....... Want Not,........ God Save !!

Tell ya,....

I don't have to run for job, so i am doing fine i guess and i travel a lot. I am ok with it and gets free time a lot. Also has a plot in main market where i will develop new shops and many people want those place for rent. So i m happy enough.😆 thinking of developing new pg for university students here But that will take some years😒 Though i own a pg on sharing basis but i will not renew after lease ends bcoz it is not profitable enough and i have to pay good rent for it.

And thinking of taking VLCC in few years but it will take investment and high rent. So i am not sure about it but i feel it will pay well in long term and marriage season but i dont wanna pay staff. So it looks risky to me.

Invest smartly and sleep. Working hard is useless unless u dont work smartly. I cant see myself in 9 to 9 job🤡

I am glad to hear that as a friend. I agree with investing and working hard smartly. Same is true in many other area of life too. And do people really work 9 to 9 job in India? Most can’t quit their jobs even if they want to quit. I have lots of respect for all of their hard work and everything they do for themselves and their families.

Also when it comes to real estate investing, I am concerned about Climate change. I went to biggerpockets forum and barely any was even concerned about it. Only very few were and even those posts were from years ago.

@On topic - I am not rich, I don’t feel I am at present. But I am very grateful for whatever I still had in the past, have now and will have in the future! ❤️

U know madz real key to success is happiness. You will be happy if u have nice family and nice partner. There are many who have all the money but are miserable. But when people say money doesnt matters, it is lie. Money makes life easy for anyone. People judge you by money either be relatives or status. Which is sad but fact.

Madz there is no work culture here in india. I worked for big software company for sometime where we were treated like glorified slaves. I learnt that i rather make money on my terms and live my life than getting bullied by manager , hr etc. Company acts like we owe them for overtime n if we apply for holiday they look at us like we commited a crime. Indian people are very hardworking and have great work ethic. Yes this is the only option they have. Parents spends their earning to get them engineering degrees. So job is the only option they have left.

For me my mom dad were govt employees, so surely not rich but we were on good enough level to have comfortable life. Its my dad who bought land a good piece of land at cheap rate in the area when noone was buying it there bcoz at that time it was deserted. But boom, suddenly the area became new big posh area n real estate went up high. With rich people started building their house. I had the thing in place n after that i worked on it. But most people dont have this opportunity to work on. I had d platform n i worked on it. I am greatful to my parents for this forever. They didnt have this opportunity for them but surely created for me n my sisters.

Real estate is one of safest business in my opinion but u have to look at location and future prospects. My father had a vision of the future and he was right. Always consider pros n cons before investing on piece of property

Yes I definitely agree. I hated money since childhood. As a child, I wanted nothing to do with money. I wouldn’t say only money was at fault but money was the one of the biggest cause for people and things to be they were. All I wanted as a child was what you said. But in recent years after having some experiences, I realized money can be useful like you said. So I have begun to open to the idea, but I am still scared. I am conflicted with it, but I am leading towards it.

Your father made good decision and got great opportunity and had luck on his side too. Glad you and your siblings are benefiting from it. Just be careful with it and have lots of luck and best wishes to you for your assets to prosper for you.

Real estate is very safe from my family’s experience. But with climate change I am not sure at the same time. May be I am just paranoid lol. My mind can’t stop but think of future most of the times :/
