If it's supposed to be a proper biopic, neither the 30+, 40+, 50+ actresses nor the mediocre nepo-kids will be good enough. But it's actually hilarious that a 51-year-old Madhuri could still pull off a 27-year-old Madhubala on Dance Deewane far more convincingly than any of the people mentioned here. Just goes to show that Bollywood really closed the gate to new truly talented outsiders.

And I've just had a good look at images of Sonam. Dead eyes, no expression - she can't even smile convincingly.

Only Aditi Rao Hydari ticks all boxes of looks, face cut, skin colour and acting ability to play Madhubala. She's 40+ but can easily pass off as 20 with right makeup and lighting. Something which can't be done by any other actress. Still not the best choice. It has to be a newcomer if makers want to get the casting right.

True... the new nepo brigade leaves a lot to be desired. Madhubala may not be known for her exceptional dancing skills but can't think of anyone from the new gen who can pull off her expressions.
