TheDiwali arrangements was intact, even some of the sweets Neeru had bought

Friendshad sent over 10s of boxes

Sheselectively went through all and ate 8 pieces in the morning for breakfast

“Are usure she wont get diabetes?” Avichuckled biting into his whole wheat toast

“If shehas your genes, she wont” she smiled

“That’s alot of sweets Samidha, don’t give yourself sugar shock”

“I wont…eat any more during the day”

“Therewas actually a plan to eat some?” he laughed

“Yourmother is very kind” she began to cry

“Whathappened?”

“I mean..my mother didn’t even care to call, she didn’t even text me to ask me if Ireached Delhi safe”

“Hmmm… Iam sorry” he got up and soothed her hair

“I reallydidn’t do this to spite her Avi… I am as clueless as I was before it happened”

“Ajjisaid she threw a big Diwali pooja…”

“That’s nice”

“Ajjisaid she didn’t tell any of her coworkers or Dad’s family that lives in Blorethat I am pregnant.. so the pooja wasn’t for my well being”

😲 🥰 Jokes apart, is she considering asking Avi to marry her ? Does she want to legitimize her relationship or baby’s stature. Wow wow - Nisha, Please please more insight into her thinking

He is there for each step of the way- emotionally consoling her as well as physically taking care of her. Now how much of this is love ? They r physically attracted to each other, compatible roommates, they care for each other ... are these good enough for a marriage to succeed or is there something that’s missing to complete their relationship ?

“Run 3miles everyday, your panting will die a painful death” he advised

“Coz IWOULD BE DEAD” Riyaz scowled

Avijogged on the same spot, exercising his ankles and knee, Toast chased after abird

“I knowthat… and I HER” he nodded

“Just askher if she is serious”

“Umm..maybe I should… if she says no, you will quit annoying me”

Avi began to run

Riyazjust sat on a park bench

Toastcircled him

“Sorrydude, this is my fave part, the pond up there has many birds and I haven’t chasedthem in a while”

“Carry on”Riyaz tickled his furry neck

Toasttook off wildly his tongue out spit spraying everywhere

Avireturned 20 minutes later

“4.8miles today… lets go” he urged Riyaz who was on the phone

“Tu ja… Iam not even sweating, Samidha wont give me a smoothie”

“Chalmain karta hoon teri sifaarish”

The menlaughed and headed home

She wascleaning up and fixing dinner

Early Decemberswas beautiful, not quite freezing yet cold

Toast saton his hind legs right in front of Samidha and panted

“I putyour water out”

He ran todrink it

“Oh teri”Riyaz was shocked

“Yeah heis kissing up to her”

“Yeah sohe can feast on me” Samidha tried to evade

“Smoothiemilegi?” Riyaz asked

“4.8miles” Royaz said unflinching

Avi washeading to the shower

“And u?”

“Only 1 Iwas breathless so I had to take a break” he mumbled… lying

Shechased after him

“WHY?” “DON’TGo take a shower NOW” she pulled on his arm

Riyazwatched carefully

“I amfine”

“Avi, uwere breathless… its cold outside, and warm in the house, shower is hot… NO Avi”she ranted

“Dude?”Riyaz gesticulated to Avi

There is so much less stigma now than before that live in relationship used to carry. What’s remained the same I feel is the doubts on the stability of a live in. All though even marriages now don’t come with a stability stamp on it.

What prompts or pushes you to go for it is to consider giving a semblance of security or stability for the family especially with children even if that doesn’t guarantee happiness in the future.

The smoothie might taste even better if they are at peace knowing that they are on the same page as regards to expectations they have of each other.

The relationship breaks only if there is too much of an imbalance in expectations both in a marriage or outside of it. Then why deny yourselves an opportunity to miss on the stability or the peace of mind that you get out of it.
