As far as buzz creation is concerned, remember how Salman came up with RAPED WOMAN comment to create buzz for sultan. Now, before you come up with "its an event kind of movie and cannot be compared with super 30", consider manikarnika - how it remained in news for clash with super 30, various actors leaving and KR pulling hr controversy again.

No, promotions don't help the film much. Bollywood does it because they don't have confidence in their product. Manikarnika only opened to 7 Crores after so much drama by Kangana.

I didn't try mocking you. My point was quality of the trailer cannot be decided based on the opening or vice versa. Trailer is for sure important but there's almost a 2 months journey between trailer and release date of the movie which brings in buzz based on several other factors.

On Manikarnika, you are looking at it in isolation and your inferences are wrong again i m afraid. Manikarnika had 8 cr opening which is great for a female lead movie and Kanganas standard - buzz helped. Buzz was more visible over the weekend when the movie did 15+ cr on Saturday and on Sunday. The drop on following weekdays proved that content was ok (neither great nor bad) and hence the collection jumps in first 3 days were purely due to buzz.

You are just saying what I'm saying. Buzz is created in different ways but trailer is most important for a content film. You can't deny that.

Manikarnika opened at 7 Crores. One extra crore was fudged by producers. It was also a biopic on Rani Laxmi Bai, which is an interesting premise for audience to watch the film. Saturday was National Holiday of Republic day, and Sunday was Sunday, so the collections are bound to increase. The effect of buzz should be seen from first day. Not second or third.

And if controversies create so much buzz, then Kangana also did alot of drama by giving interviews and what during release of Simran, but the movie ended up opening at 2 Crores. Why is that so?

I so want to see a good hrithik movie, Kaabil was a decent one though

Hope the director knows how good it can be done and the guv takes up the task of talent searching in those place too were many neglects to venture
